I love how infectious Reavis and Melvin are. It's bringing a very hip new era to Tech, and letting fans to get a bit more of how a kid is when he's not on the field.

When Taylor left and Tech fans were wishing him good luck the OSU fans were shocked, they didn't understand people acting like adults and having some class.

Well today was about a failure to execute. JJ actually appeared to have them running a motion offense but the shots just weren't falling. 80-60 is the final, with Tech shooting just 37% from the field and 25% behind the arc. Emelogu led Tech with 21 points. No other Hokies were in double digits. Eddie went 0-9 from the floor scoring two points at the line. Thompson brought some surprising energy in this game.

I understand being skeptical, I am in my own right. But the person I am talking with would not have mentioned it if he didn't have a decent indication of what was going to happen. Now could Derrick change his mind yes, but that goes with any of these recruits until that LOI comes thru as a fan base lets stay positive.

Glad to hear that they hadnt quit. Looking at the box score it looks like the young guys played fairly well, unfortunately thats all I can get today. Did they look like they were running a real offense or was it the pass around the perimeter crap again?

The worst Hokie nightmare I ever had is I was going to the first game at Lane and walking down around a completely turned around Lane stadium.
I kept missing the game but hearing a kickoff and then I was in a hotel like the Ritz in NYC, and I kept calling for a ride to the game. It was awful.

66-50. Thompson got posterized on a dunk but has played pretty well so far. Tech seemed to be making a run but its fizzled but they haven't quit. Terps just trying to run out their shot clock to slow down the game and get out with a win
For a few years while I was there, there was a deal for a free 6 inch sub at Subway if you brought your ticket to them. My friends and I would wait until the game was over then go throughout Cassel picking up all the tickets people dropped on the ground. We ate a lot of free sandwiches. They stopped doing that after the second year I think.
I think there are three main contributors (I can't really rank them in order but just listing them) to energy of any basketball student section:
1) Easy. Team success.
2) Team playing style. If you play fast-paced, you're going to be fun to watch. VCU does this on both sides of the ball.
3) Pep band. VCU's pep band mopped the floor with our band just about as badly as their basketball team did. I know people who would go to Rams games just for the band even if the team was having a down year.
Like Shoog said, Cassell can get really fired up. Unfortunately in my years at VT (09-13), it only really happened a few times for big ACC (and that awesome one vs OK State) games like UNC/Duke but it was still great. We just haven't seen it very much, if at all, this year.
This cat is big, mean, tenacious & hungry. Good swim, nice jolting shoulder punch, impressive bull rush. I feel sorry for the highschool kids in his way. Gotta love this class brosephs! His first highlight sums it up completely. Gobble-gobble.

Welp 62-41 and we are anemic on offense. Terps switched to a triangle and two zone defense and Tech can't seem to figure it out

I checked out a few of his videos on Youtube. Look up "the Human Joystick - Isaiah McKenzie". This is the playmaking ability we haven't had since DW4. Very. Very. Elusive. Our return man from DAY 1.
