With only 9.7k members in the Hokie Club, they might as well open up tickets to everyone at the same time, with the specifically good ones set aside for the HC.
We have to sell 40k tickets. We'd need every single Hokie Club member to request 4 tickets for us to reach this goal. Tennessee has already asked for more.
With that said, this needs to happen soon, or else we're going to be looking at a situation where we're outnumbered at that venue something like 100,000 to 50,000.

It's definitely an interesting curve ball but I think there would have to be a major collapse at a lot of schools with proof for this argument to impact the current state of things. I personally believe that universities, save for 1 or 2 bad apples, are in fact actually educating athletes as they should be. And the NCAA, for better or worse, has been given the tools to find, investigate and correct (through penalization) universities that fail to do so.
But it seems we have some current and former athletes on TKP so would be interested to hear whether they believe they are getting/got a "real" education or a just shine job.
Rumors indicated Gregg Marshall (Cave Spring grad) was targeted before we ultimately hired JJ. No one knows for sure if we extended an offer...he is rumored to be a bit of a hot head - and as a result people were a little leery of moving from one hot head (Seth) to another - but he certainly can coach.
I am too. It seems we have covering everything but linebacker. I mean we got a commitment but if we lose minor, we are screwed.
Like this guy. Very good assessment. Thanks for the read. Having trouble against mobile QBs was an understatement. Granted I think losing Kyle Fuller hurt us the most in that department this year, but we need to figure out how to contain those QBs so young Fuller and Facyson can make plays in the passing game and not worry about a mobile QB.
Gregg Marshall is a good call. I think we would have a realistic shot of getting him. I'm not sure where he's originally from, but he spent a long time at Winthrop. Wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to come back east and who wants to stay in Wichita?
The good thing about that (and credit to TSL, blowing that story up in 2012 was one of the better things they ever did) is that it really opened the fanbase's eyes to just how awful the offensive coaching had become and made it so that there really was no choice for Beamer other than to clean house.
And Moorehead would lose his mind if he saw one of his players nowadays playing like that.

In other words, form a union in a right to work state and you are asking to be fired without penalty. Whereas in a union state, you will get fired for not joining the union and forced to join even if you want nothing to do with it.
I think it was more the byproduct of that game. Ford pre-snap identified that a safety wasn't in position to help, and he knew that he didn't have help in the backfield blocking, so he needed to get the throw off quickly. Worst case it is incomplete.
In his highlight reel, he does an excellent job of checking down. He keeps his eyes downfield, even while scrambling.
The biggest worry you have to have with him is that he is so confident in his accuracy that he sometimes throws the ball back to the middle of the field while running towards the sidelines. As any Brett Favre and Peyton Manning fan will tell you, that is a recipe for disaster in the DI and pro ranks. You can get away with it in high school, but the closing speed at the next level is too great to try it, and I am sure if he hasn't learned, Facyson and Fuller will give him a reminder this spring.
Hey, let's not forget that Tebow was an outstanding college QB who led the country in pass efficiency when Loeffler was there.
I just hope that before the speedway gives away any more tickets to UT, they wait for us to sell ours. That also means that VT has to step up and give them a timeline in the next 3 months tickets will be available to Hokie Club members, etc.
Why would switching somebody overmatched who doesn't know how to adjust help by having them coach the women's team instead? There is no need to harm the women's team. If he is let go now, just let him go. I feel bad that his development as a coach was rushed and as a result harmed.

Exactly. At FSU Harrison has legitimate competition for playing time probably from multiple 5* receivers that he may not overcome for a year or two. At Tech no matter who we end up with there is no doubt Harrison instantly is a day 1 starter.

This kid is blazing, looks like the scat back/wr 's that Oregon pulls in every year, yes he would have to qualify but if I were CFB I would offer him and if he gets in great if not hopefully we keep harrison. CFB has nothing to lose at this point why not try to bolster our recruiting class even if he doesn't get it.
It also would be interesting to see how he could get into ND and UF but not VT, both UF and ND are very prestigious schools.
You can never have enough talent at the skill positions.

I think we would need to offer Shaka close to Beamer money. I think he is safely making over 1 million a year at VCU.
