I think I would have Cadarian Raines much higher on this list based on your assertion of the list being based on impact. I think he would either be #1 or #1A because if you look at the games we should have won but lost (USC Upstate, UNCG, Seton Hall, ..... their was one defining thing missing and that was dominating the paint consistently against smaller less talented big men. JJ either failed to drive the ball to Raines when he was in or Raines was on the bench when he really was needed most. Raines time in the doghouse has had the effect to possibly cost this team as many as five wins looking back with 20-20 goggles. I don't know what the issue is between him and JJ but it needs to get fixed or get over with so the gray space stops. The other effect that the Raines drama has had is much more time for JVZ and Barksdale on the court for good and bad.
I would also argue that Emelogu's bad habits in regards shooting behind the arc has a bigger impact than Jarell Eddie's inconsistent play. With Eddie and Emelogu though you know what you are going to get unfortunately, which is why I agree with you regarding JJ being a hire impact guy than both of these two, because a freshmen with bad habits should be getting the S*** coached out of him to fix these problems.

Nelson County is just west of Charlottesville off I-64 - probably 2 hrs from Blacksburg. Definitely worth the short venture.

If we lose Grimes, do we go after another zone blocking scheme OL coach? Does Leofller's offense depend on a zone scheme? Was Stiney a zone blocking guy? These are all questions that I have. We recruited man guys before, Grimes then recruited guys for a zone scheme, if we don't use a zone next year then we have a mix of guys that do different things.

Sounds like PSU hired Chip West away from UVA. Interesting move as he is UVA's best recruiter but it does put a good VA recruiter on PSU's roster. A swap with Johnson, kinda.

Which suit? The original claim against Maryland? or the new countersuit?
The original suit was filed by the ACC in North Carolina, Maryland tried to argue that because most of the parties involved and actions taken were in Maryland that it should have been filed in Maryland. The judge deemed that the case should be heard in NC because that's where Maryland agreed to the payout fee if it left the conference and its where the ACC is headquartered. I do not see it being tossed.
As for the countersuit, it all depends on how valid the Maryland legal arguments are so until an article summarizes those I don't know what to expect of it (I am not going to find and read the legal filings)

No. I've never been asked, to my knowledge. I get called several times a year asking for academic donations, but I don't remember a single call asking for a Hokie Club donation. How that's possible, I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong.
Should I have sent in a gift on my own. Yes. SMH. But until today I've always thought of it as something for season ticket holders, or those aspiring to be such, and I'm not in a position where that's possible. I've never thought of it as a way to support the team, completely separated from the question of tickets. I would think a call could have helped in that respect. Somehow they need to get that message out... this is not just about tickets! Lightbulb... Purchasing VT merchandise isn't the only way to support our Hokies financially!
I'm wondering how Ryan Pugh fits into all of this. If Grimes bolts for Baton Rouge, what are the chances Pugh is the contingency plan? He learned under Grimes and has followed him around during his young career. If Pugh is elevated to replace Coach Grimes, that would go a long way in ensuring scheme continuity, etc. I know he is extremely green, but you've got to start somewhere...seems like a logical possibility to me.
