i also feel like we run plays like that to try to wear defenders out. make em run sideline to sideline early and then pound it up the middle late, ideally at least.

Combine that with a couple turnovers and/or blocked kicks (the return of true BeamerBall), and you'd have yourself a fantastic football game.

oh no that's completely plausible right? it's science right? it was pretty good right?

We spoke a bit about this midway through December. Here is the old forum topic if anyone wants to poke around.

2013 stat line: in 6 starts - 112/185 passing (60.5%), 1216 yards, 6 TD/5 INT, 61 carries for 61 yards and 3 TD.

I'm no QB evaluator, but it looks like he played fairly well in his first three games (Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas) and poorly in his last four (LSU, Mizzou, Georgia, Vandy). He sprained the AC joint in his throwing shoulder vs LSU and played with it until being shut down after the Vandy game. His sister voiced some displeasure on Twitter about UF supposedly trying to cover up the injury.

I kind of lost respect for it in the first 5 minutes. When he survived a nuclear blast by climbing in a refrigerator...

it's not that bad. the action and stuff are pretty good but the ending is just completely stupid. i'm a huge indiana jones fan though so that may cloud my judgement.

it would make him annakin. bud leaving for another acc school and coming back to finally fill the trophy case would be like annakin going to the dark side but then killing the emperor and finally bringing balance to the force in the end.

bud would be darth vader. awesome.

Glad we aren't wasting any time in doing so. You would have to think that Louisville is going to see a lot of attrition in what was supposed to be a good recruiting class. Might as well benefit the Hokies.

well he pursued that clemson job pretty hard. i dont think he'd have an issue with it.

You're welcome. And I should have said thank you for posting it, because I had no idea about him being interested.

Wonder if Loeffler and Beamer Co. reached out after Strong departed?

Don't forget that Auburn had a 1000 yard rusher (Tre Mason) and a 500 yard rusher (Onterio McCalebb) who averaged 5.86 and 6.06 ypc, respectively. Meanwhile, in only 257 attempts, their combined QBs had 15 picks. Yeesh. Perspective: Thomas had 13 picks in 402 attempts. So Malzahn had a very solid rushing attack to build off of when he got here. Add in a solid QB who can run the read option game and doesn't turn the ball over (5 picks in 212 attempts), and you've got the makings of a very good football team.

I edited this post because it's somewhat newsworthy and relevant to our interests. The original tweet you embedded was from Random Internet Guy, not a source. If you're going to cite a tweet, make sure it's from a professional, or the player itself, not some random person playing a game of telephone. Twitter search is your friend. I searched for "Desean Blair" and within two seconds found the ESPN recruiting analyst who originally put the news out.

Recruits are fun to keep up with, but there's no use in agonizing over it my friend. We look to be in good position with our remaining targets and FUMA players and that's about all you can ask for at this point. Regardless, we still have an overall excellent commit list for this year and several nice early commits for next year.
