I like the fact that the new coaches are setting up a legit QB competition. The Tyrod signing worked out (where we promosed not to recruit any other QBs that year), but how many times have teams been hamstrung because they put all of their eggs in one QB basket and he didn't pan out? Think about Miami during the Kirby Freeman era.

Not all graduate programs are built the same. I hardly left the lab my first year in the Ph.D. program I was in. For a lot of people, it's not just the course load, there's research and teaching requirements. I wasn't taking a massive amount of credits, but the lab work was more than enough to keep me busy enough to miss games.

A few years ago when I was working at ABP in Squires, I was a cashier and rang up Sean Glennon. I prided myself on the fact that I knew it was him before I even swiped his hokie passport. I'll be honest, I was not too impressed.
Many years ago (7 to be exact) when I was a freshman moving in to my dorm on campus, I was walking around campus with my parents. We were near the bookstore about to go across the crosswalk towards the drillfield and Frank Beamer walks by and says hi to me and my parents. After he passed us, I turned around, looked at him again, and said to my parents, " I think that was Frank Beamer". Flashforward to this past August, I'm back in B'burg for grad school and I'm in my car on the street headed towards to drillfield and I had to stop to let Frank Beamer cross in that same crosswalk.
A few years ago I also took a the VSAP driver improvement course and big Wang was in my class. He was a pretty chill and sort of quiet guy.
I also had a very nice conversation once (in 2010) with either JR Collin's mother or Antoine Hopkin's mother. Whosever mother it was had parked in a lot just off-campus to go to a football game and I was one of the people managing the lot at the time and all I remember is she asked me if I knew _____ and that he was her son and she was so excited to see him play. I then had to give her directions to the stadium.
Oh yeah I almost forgot, my girlfriend and her sister met LT3's grandmother at ECU in 2011. They asked her for a light!
I think Ford has an advantage. Many HS QBs have to be taught to be patient and not just try to tuck it and run at the first read - doesn't work as well in D1 FB. I think he will be a great change of pace though (based on the way things are now). How they both develop remains to be seen. Either way, competition always makes players better. Iron sharpening iron.

Also this Travon McMillian is in most places listed as an athlete but 247 has him as a dual threat QB. I just saw his highlight vid and he has some amazing vision and scramble ability. Also he has some decent arm strength for a guy his size. 3 new QBs(maybe) with completely different skill sets. I'm stoked!
Yet, should he have committed to an Alabama he'd likely have risen. Ford's going to be in a system in which he will thrive. And with the new kid from Ohio to push him, he'll likely have to do it sooner rather than later. Wonder if that's what Loeffler and Beamer want. Redshirt one of them, get two or three great years out of the other before he goes pro, then the other guy will have two solid years himself. What a plan.

Yea Brandons moms is on fact Beamers sister. Brandons dad played football at Tech with Beamer back in the day. Thats how he met his future wife. Brandon and each of his brothers were all Glenvar high schools athlete of the year at some point.
They definitely don't look stable right now. They just lost two quarterbacks and we may have a 5 man race for the job. Maybe I'm just being the eternal optimist but I really think we're building a head of steam on recruiting and rebuilding right now.

Looks like there will be some REAL QB competitions coming up in about 3 months. I couldn't be happier with the new staff and how up beat they are with recruiting. Honestly this might be the most active I have seen it in years and heck we are not even done with the season yet. Leffy and Grimes are getting us to be a well oil's machine!
