Gotcha, thanks for the clarification & +1 for you. I figured Mickey getting fired today had something to do with it, too.
A couple of thoughts from watching his film:
1) Sobczak is a big kid, but he isn't just a road grader. He is a high school team mate of Vince Mihota, and Massaponax uses Sobczak as a defensive end in some 30 fronts. He has a very nice rip technique and his feet go with his upper body after he defeats a block.
2) Did I mention he is athletic? Massaponax uses Sobczak as a short yardage fullback. And, they do give him the football.
3) Have I said he is more athletic than you think he will be when reading the description? As soon as I think I am impressed, he beats a double team quickly to hit the fullback in the backfield. His feet look like the Road Runner. I love how he steps through his gap and then maintains his leverage.
To me, he looks like the exact kind of defensive tackle that Charley Wiles has liked to use over the last decade. He is a stocky guy who has a good first step, gets into his gap, and is strong enough to keep his gap fit. Worst case, he should be a solid depth player at Virginia Tech. Best case, the Hokies do need a big kid who can play leverage to compliment the smaller quicker tackles that they have in the pipeline like Nigel Williams, Woody Baron, and Ricky Walker. If he can be a productive guy in that role, this is a steal. Nobody else currently on the roster or verbally committed really fits that description. If they can get Nnadi, he will be the shining star, but Sobczak I think will surprise some folks.
I am literally dying right now.
I think we should start a comment of the year voting process...just so this can win.
I am an odd duck when it comes to Thanksgiving. Throughout my teens, Thanksgiving week meant spending the week in a hunting camp in Craig County, VA. On Thanksgiving night, we would come out of the mountains and go to my aunt's house in Thaxton (near Bedford.) My Uncle Michael and Tia Carol were wonderful cooks, but a bit too gourmet with Thanksgiving. I loved the dark meat turkey, roasted potatoes, and cranberry sauce (LOVE IT) but for the most part, I didn't eat that much.
The reason? My real Thanksgiving was always the next night back in camp. My Uncle Tracy, who passed away about a month ago, would get out his cast iron and cook a feast. He would fry pork chops and potatoes in the cast iron, with a side of creamed corn, green beans, French-family coleslaw, and apple sauce cake for desert. We would sit around the stove, talk about hunting, and he would just chuckle listening to what a dumb kid I was. I would get so stuffed that the next day in the tree stand was always an adventure. A couple of years, we came out of the woods around 4:00PM the next day and listen to the VT vs UVA game on an AM radio. (That is how I listened to Jermaine Holmes catch to beat UVA in 5.) I looked forward to that meal more than any other as a kid, and I will miss it terribly this week. Thank you Uncle Tracy for the good memories.
The fact that AJ Hughes isn't a finalist for the Ray Guy is just ridiculous. Let's hope he lays out all his frustration on those UVA punt returners.
All I can say is JMU's loss is our gain, welcome aboard, Steve Sobczak!
Let's hope Bud makes him pay for those comments.

Foster has been after him for quite some time. Two things happened recently -
1. Tech changed to the offer from a delayed entry greyshirt to a standard arrive-in-the-fall.
2. JMU's head coach was fired earlier today.
Don't be fooled by the 2-star rating - this kid's film is every bit as good as the film of the top 2014 DTs.
My dad does homemade mashed potatoes, that are just absolutely delicious. I could eat a pound of them and not think twice. My mom does a Mac and Cheese dish with 4 different types of cheeses and a pint of sugar.... its also out of this world, Its hard to describe but I can barely eat any other type of Mac and Cheese now. Stuffing, baked beans and bacon , and Pretzel and Jello salad are nice as well.
Can't forget Homemade rolls the size of softballs, covered in butter..........
Stallions tend to go for smaller mares.
Looks like a Fall enrollee for sure -
"Sobczak was originally offered a grey shirt by #Hokies in the summer, but that changed in recent weeks. He will enroll in fall." Nathan Warters (@NathanWarters) November 26, 2013

This kid's legit. Was on major schools' radars but committed early. Has lost 50 pounds and playing at high level.
Sobczak on he and Ponax teammate Vinny Mihota: [Bud Foster] said me and Vinny are going to play next to each other and ball out pretty much.
Sobczak says no grayshirt. #Hokies want him to enroll in fall. "That was pretty much the last straw for me to pull the trigger," he said.
Sob-CHACK
Sobczak told me he would not gray shirt. That's why he chose to accept offer.
Playing at 285, down from 330 last yr, he has been an anchor on the int line on def and helped pave the way for Panthers triple opt offense.
Second.
Just to clarify, I did put in for Week 13 (and went 2-4 I may add). My guesses are between gmart22 & weavez22. IDK if this knocks me out of the lead, but I'm not Barry Bonds so I'm not cool with *'s next to my name. Cheers!
perfect
My Grandma lived up on the MD Eastern Shore of the Bay.
She'd make that from fresh oysters for chicken and turkey.
I would never eat the bird, I went for that oyster.
It was fantastic.
Ah man, now I'm gonna cry.
Crap, I forgot to record it.
not a classic, but my brother's MIL makes this ground-sausage stuffed croissant roll thing for an appetizer...it's like sausage-balls only awesomer. I seriously eat so many beforehand I can barely scarf down anything at the actual dinner.
So basically... http://sadtrombone.com/
Has anyone else had oyster stuffing? Suprisingly (to some) delicious. Like, really, really, good.
Cranberry sauce is made with real cranberries, not a can dammit. Boil cranberries and add sugar, its not that hard.
Sweet potatoes are best in a casserole, but hold the friggin' marshmallows. Regular mashed potatoes are delicious. Green bean casserole with french fried onions on top (is there another way). Homemade bread is awesome in place of generic rolls. Corn pudding is the tits. STUFFING STUFFING STUFFING STUFFING
Gravy goes on everything.
The two sides to this controversy need to rally and unite; 2 games maybe 3 left...there is no point to any more discussion. In honor of our senior QB, who has sacrificed and been a true Hokie, I will just say this:
LMFT3
No Hokie is a finalist for a position award

They need to take out all the frustrations of 2013 out on that other team.

Here is Sobczak's Hudl video. I'd suggest watching. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/311157/
