I disagree about motivation. Remember this is the same UNC team (at least some players), who had Costal Championship rings made even when they were exempt from the title game. If they can do that, they can get up to deny their biggest rival in all sports a chance at legitimate Costal Representation in the title game. They would never miss a chance to screw each other over, sportwise.

Crazy gamblers theory here. But if Duke goes out and waxes UNC, I could see VT coming out flat, still winning, but not as dominant because they know they can't go to the ACCCG. If Duke loses, (noon Duke game vs. 3:30 VT start), I could see the Hokeis enraged and just putting the stones to UVA to ensure a trip to Charlotte. In fact, I'm gonna go ahead and bet on it.

"Nothing else matters to UVA"

Is this why they phoned in the last 8 games? Because they were too focused on VT? My guess is that they are just a terrible football team, but maybe they were looking too far ahead to the last game of the season this whole time.

I am confident in beating UVA. If VT loses to this UVA team, it will be the WORST loss in the history of the rivalry. Outside of beating BYU (Really? WTF happened there), They have lost 8 in a row and their defense is terrible. I don't think this is anywhere near a 3 score game. But with an in state rival, you never know.

UNC would love nothing more than sticking it to Duke. This would make their decade let alone their year. Duke is playing for the biggest stakes in school history, a lot is on the line and if this was at Duke (I know there isn't much to be said about either 'home-field-advantage' with these teams) I'd say they win. But UNC is clicking right now. I hope they find a way to put VT in the ACCCG. Go Heels.

'Well give Greyson some opportunities to go in the game, Mike London said. Its important that he gets some development as the season winds down.

Very, very telling signal here. Basically, London is saying the season's over and he is merely using this game as an evaluation tool for the spring, which mean, there will be fewer fans at their spring game than last year's spring game.

I say we offer Jon Stewart while we are it. He's a William and Mary guy, should be a definite VT commit!

Of the two (Stinespring or Shane) I think Stinespring would be the bigger loss right now.

And that's not intended to be a dig at Shane. Some HC experience would be good for him.

I like the commit, but I'll hold out the fist-pumps until a LOI is signed. Good to see that out of state recruits with SEC offers still see the benefit of working in Fosters system.

Now, can Loeffler start making the same strides...

I can definitely see this happening. He's young, charmastic, and fiery. I think that would be a stepping stone for him. But...as I have learned when Georgia Southern contacted the office at Blacksburg, Shane didn't go, so I think it's just speculation.

Oh really!? If that's the case then why is he still with Tech? Nobody (save the powers that be) even knows if they will call him up. He's got nowhere else to go but down IMHO. I will put $$$ that he's staying right here! Any takers?

Would probably be the all around best thing to happen. Shane goes and either proves himself as a candidate capable of being a successful D-1 coach to replace Frank in 2017 or makes it obvious that the new AD would need to go in a different direction.

While hard to stomach, Shane leaving and coaching somewhere else would probably be best long term. Losing Shane as a recruiter for this 2015 class though could really hurt.

Yeah he was also "rumored" for a position with the Indy Colts then they snapped out of it and realized "whoa, wtf did I just smoke bro? That's some serious blow!"

Yeah, Stiney would go in a heartbeat. He's a good HC prospect, and more importantly, he was demoted at VT. Once you're demoted, time to find another place to work.

I could definitely see him go. Even if it's a paycut, being a head coach gives the opportunity for a lot more long-term earnings, plus the prestige of being a head coach and not a coordinator/recruiter. And I also wouldn't be surprised if he's still a bit salty about being demoted...I know I would be.

No he doesn't. And he's not gonna go. Gets paid more as a recruiter than he would there.

I usually like sweet potatoes with a few sides of sweet potatoes, and then after I'm done eating my sweet potatoes I'll usually go back and get some sweet potatoes.
