Oregon - Zona isn't that good and Oregon likes to cover.
Wisconsin - This game will be closer than the score but pounding the rock is what Wisky does best, and it will allow them to net enough points to cover by the end of the game.
TAMU - Oddly enough this looks like it will be an offensive shootout. If it's a night game I probably go LSU, but 3:30 tells me A&M.
Arizona State - Toughest pick all week, which makes me feel like I should take the homedog. I have this gut feeling that ASU wins it though.
Mizzou - Didn't think Mizzou would be that good but at some point it's not a fluke so I'll roll with it.
Oklahoma State - Hate picking a team that lost to WVU in this one, but K-State had some success running the ball (especially with the QB) and the Reese loss doesn't help Baylor.

These are facts. Good question my friend. It seems to me that after a loss if you aren't all up in the clouds and have optimism then you are bad fan and get down voted for having an opinion about it.

That's a cheap shot for having an opinion but it would be very hard to turn in my Hokie card when I have it tattooed on my shoulder. I love VT more than anybody but I'm a realist and when the baby is ugly you gotta call it ugly.

Grad school problems:
"Can I borrow your keys?"
"Do you know where *insert professor, TA, or other random person* is?"
"No? Do you know when they'll be around?"
"Do you know where their office is?"
"Do you know how to work this machine?"
"Do you know how to fix this machine?"

And one thing that's just started today... my office is essentially a closet that opens up on two labs. The heating vent for BOTH labs is in this room, so even though it's 70 degrees out, the heat is on, making my office sweltering hot. So today I have the doors to both labs open, trying to not die of heat stroke. Now people are using my office like it's a second hall.

I'm dead serious on this. IF we do make it to the title game and beat FSU I don't want to see us lose another BCS bowl my heart can't take it anymore. The fact is this whole thing is bigger than VT. It's about our conference being a joke compared the sec, big 10 and PAC 12. It's about our conference playing in the national title game. There is nothing more that I want than for VT to knock off the secs title run but we proved early in the season that we can't hang so it's up to fsu. While that does suck I'm looking at the bigger picture here. Down vote me all you want but this is the way I see it.

I just thought the same thing, I've been editing the embed code manually and have to look up how to do it most of the time. I usually omit the last part that adds the time stamp below the video though.

In relative response to this general topic about ACC perception, I actually don't think FSU winning out and beating Alabama for the title helps the ACC that much, if any. All it really does is promote the notion that FSU fielded a fantastic team this year that blew away its competition in a top heavy division and conference (which is the current trajectory). The only game they really struggled in was against BC, but even Alabama has struggled for a few quarters this year.

If anything, I am always going to route for the hokies and would kill to see them ruin FSU's title hopes just the way they ruined ours. This has been the year of payback afterall. And like you said, the ACC's perception is the way it is as we ultimately got that sugar bowl bid in 2011 over those other teams. If next year yielded the same results, I could easily see us getting another BCS bid.

I saw Phoebus played Dematha and lost but I didn't know his stat-line. Those are the kind of games I'd pay attention to stat-wise though. To play devil's advocate though, if he's there star homerun hitter or playmaker, why only give him 20 carries if his avg yd per run is at 4.1? It could be a coaching/play-calling issue, which is way outside the realm of this topic but just something that big-game stat-line made me think of.

Too bad losing in college would get you a gold throne - NFL would get you the #1 draft pick, unless you're the Browns - you would trade it away.

Not wanting to play in the ACCCG is a losing attitude. This is akin to LOLUVA fans complaining about scheduling Oregon this year. Playing F$U in the title game means one more game for us to watch, one more game for manbearpig to crush the RB, one more game for James Gayle to give a QB nightmares, one more game for LT3 to tell the haters to suck it, and one more glorious Saturday of Hokie football (and Bourbon). How could you not want that?

So would you award the loser of the Toilet Bowl the trophy, for essential winning at losing?

Let's get up on uva early and let them eat their own. Let their stadium be filled with their own boos. Let our guys just sit on wobbly passes and let Gayle cap off his uva hate with a 3 sack game. Let Edmunds pound his way for 25+ carries and 3 scores. Let LT finish his regular season career with another Lane Stadium East master piece with 300 yards, 3 total scores and no turnovers.

Then, if Duke can finish off a 10-2 season, tip your hat to the Fighting Cutcliffes and get ready for a bowl game (preferably the CFA or the Sun, no Russell Athletic or Belk please). If the red hot Tar Heels take Duke out, we'll pack up our bus and see what we can do in Charlotte.

Then, when we get there, let the pressure of the situation play on FSU. Keep Winston in front of us. Tackle. Trust our DB's to play their WR's as well as anyone has all year. Control the ball on offense. Trust LT to make one or two last plays and go into the fourth QTR with a chance to win.

it's parity

SEC perceived to be the best conference so if they beat each other up it's because they're the best conference.

ACC perceived to be 5th best conference so if they beat each other up it's because they're bad...FSU being the outlier

Thanks for playing the guy in the know that has angst for someone asking a legitimate question that has been posted by several members now. The OP here wasn't criticizing him but was naturally curious why a player on a team devoid of experience has one of the few players with experience sitting out with no announcement from the school. We tweeters could show some love if we had any idea what was going on....
