Joe, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you sir

Thanks French. This perfectly answers the questions I have been having about our trend in special teams. Certainly hoping the incoming recruits plus a more experienced Hughes will improve our ST woes.

Yep, I'm in the same boat with you there. Same thing for any "obvious" penalty called for or against us. I usually try to keep my mouth shut instead of wasting my breath to say anything to surrounding fans and go to the face-palm maneuver.

I'd like to think that we tanked the Maryland game on purpose just to give LOLUVA hope that they could win this year... And then we come out Thanksgiving weekend and crush them to complete the Decade of Dominance.

Really? Competition is a good thing. Any recruit walking on campus thinking that they have a starting job has the wrong mindset. My point was more that in the past Beamer basically auto-RS any incoming freshmen. Given the new coaches and some of the gaps on the team I think there is a much better chance at competing for playing time as a Fr then there has been in a long time.

So you're saying wouldn't have some beers and root for Tech if they made it to the game? haha, kidding, I understand your point.

In response to the ACC being perceived as a weak conference if FSU were to lose to VT or anybody in the ACCCG, I think the only way to rid the perception would be if FSU were to win the NCG against Bama. If FSU loses then, "the ACC still isn't ready for prime time" or if FSU were to play and beat Ohio St or Baylor, then "they SEC is so good it just ate its own, and the ACC didn't really prove anything since it was a BIG10 or BIG12 team" This is how I think ACC critics and SEC homers will see it until we beat the SEC in a NCG. IMO, Nick Saban with that amount of time to prepare for FSU and the experience of Bama's team will result in the ACC still being perceived as weak. That's just another reason for me to root for VT to make it to and win the ACCCG because I don't see it having a negative impact on our selection for playoffs in the future. Hell, in 2011 we had 2 losses (including 38-10 in the ACCCG) and were 11th in the BCS and a committee chose us over the #4, 7, and 8 teams for the Sugar Bowl. So the ACC's perception among the people that actually matter doesn't seem THAT bad.

If we get the 3:30 time slot then I should be able to make the trip down to Lane North to watch LT3, Exum, Ky Fuller, and the other senior's last regular season game and the Decade of Dominance!

On the subject of football ignorance, scenario: VT Offense lineman jumps during the cadence and no one on the defense moves. An obvious false start, yet fans will Boo the ref, drop f bombs left and right for the ref blowing the call. I don't understand people/fans sometimes?
