+1 to offset the apparent rage neg :-)

I've said the same thing a few times - this is akin to a head coach change and our expectations for this year need to be tempered with understanding the reality of the situation. We've missed on recruiting in key positions for several seasons. The cure to our ills is recruiting, recruiting is a multi-year process. The guys that we've landed in 2013 won't even enroll until 2014 and possibly not play until 2015 depending on red-shirts and development. The requisite changes have been made now we need to let them make the corrections.

You don't hand a guy a tire fire and then complain that he didn't get it put out immediately.

This. And with him:

Note: I love doing a Google image search for a player and finding no less that 5 memes sourced from TKP.

Team cookie.
This is how it felt to be one of like three on team cookie.

yes I agree wholeheartedly. I knew coming into this season we would be fortunate to have 8 wins. I never pictured losing to those 3 teams though. I think that's part of what is so disheartening about it. I think everyone here knew we weren't likely to have a 10 win season, but because we beat some of the teams we thought would beat us (GT, UNC, Miami) and lost to some of the teams we were expected to beat people let themselves get more upset than was really warranted. We do need to remember that this year and next year will be rebuilding years for us. I think 2015 we SHOULD be back to 9-10 wins and 2016 could be a special year for us.

But for now we just need to be the best fans we can be and support our team through thick and thin. There have been ups and downs and you better believe that there will be ups and downs next season too. Massive changes like what we had over the off season don't typically yield favorable results over night. Patience is paramount.

Sums up my reaction when that ball crossed the pylon.

We're going to need to Spy Watford (maybe the more Pro-Style Lambert?) the whole game. Mobile QBs have been a problem for us the whole season. We don't want any breakdowns against the Hoos.

They lack a lot of things. They've been gutted here recently. They just don't have the talent levels we're used to seeing.

As I posted elsewhere, I predicted 8-4 but never would have predicted one of the eight would be Miami and three of the four would be Duke, BC and UMD.

Agree 100%. There are many other places to take that kind of stuff. I've always appreciated the kinda irreverent, EDSBS-esque tone here at TKP. Thanks for all you guys do.
Also, any Warren G reference gets a turkey leg from me.

I was talking to a friend about this. I'm afraid we might never see quite the same level of crazy motherfucking shit that we used to have with Beamerball. Everyone else in the country has figured out the simple formula of "Talent + Aggression = Points" and has restructured their special teams to minimize the affects of "Talent + Aggression" and have also learned the inverse property of "Defensive Aggression + Punt Unit Fake = Punt Unit Conversion".

It might help to frame this in the context of the last four games: Duke, BC, Miami, UMD. We beat Miami and lost to the other three. What is different about Miami? They are the team that, historically, have refused to game plan against our offense. They simply line it up the way they do every week and react to what we do. Time and time again, this has resulted in a victory. And with the loss to Duke, Miami doesn't appear to be the Top 10 team everyone thought they were.

The other three appear to have studied our offensive strengths and weakenesses and planned accordingly. Our offense performs as well as the defenses allow them to. We have been able to overcome our offensive issues with stifling defense, but later in the season that has not proven to be enough.

By then we have players coached under what is hopefully a better offensive scheme then the "Tyrod goes out and makes shit up" scheme of the old regime. We have a lot of cohesive talent coming in. I think it's fair to say that there is a great chance of us being good in 2016.

Same. So obvious once it's confirmed. Thanks, Joe, for keeping the community in line. Sorry you had to waste time on that, though.

To be fair, when I watched that I believed the U's last President, Edward T. Foote II, was pompous enough to be a Cav.
