Even though he's not the HC (yet) I feel that Bud Foster is actually better at in game adjustments than Beamer.

I like beamer, but he always seems too conservative and never allows his oc to finish teams off. Stanford under harbaugh was run first, ball control offense, but ask Pete carroll about being put away

He totally missed his shot to hire Kevin Rogers into Offensive Coordinator, before Rogers left for the Vikings in '06. Currently, Rogers is the Offense Coordinator at William and Mary

He was also at bc under spazziani, but left due to health or something. Would've been an upgrade over stinespring and would've run the ball, but was by no means phenomenal as an oc anywhere he went

Oklahoma at Baylor -14.5
Oregon -10.5
Penn State +2.5
Wisconsin -7.5
Miami -6.5
LSU +12.5

I'm going with good Logan for this game. It's a night game and against Miami whom he seems to get up for starting with his third down conversion throw when Tyrod had to go out for a play. Logan totals 3 TDs no picks and a 65%+ completion %.

Put down the kool-aid for one second. It's an undeniable fact that Beamer is nearing the end of his career. It's a question that has to be asked at some point.

What about Kevin Rogers? Currently the OC at William and Mary but, he was QB's coach from 02-06, and was OC at Notre Dame. Tell me this is exactly what we need:

"While offensive coordinator for Notre Dame Fighting Irish football, Rogers coached a Notre Dame offense that broke the school single-season record for total passing yards, completions and attempts. In 2000, Rogers' offense set a NCAA record for fewest turnovers in a season."

Source: Wikipedia, but hey- it is accurate.

I always thought that DiffyQ should be the name of a song....never took the class (thankfully, my QCA couldn't have survived it....and I didn't last that long in engineering), so I have no idea what kind of torture it entailed, but the name was fun.

Honestly though, I enjoyed the post once I brought myself to tackle that monstrous block of text. You see a lot of negativity in all facets of life and it's certainly difficult not to get upset after a loss, especially in the fashion we've had the last two weeks. When I was younger I would completely lose it over football games and let a loss ruin my day. Finally I realized it's just not worth letting a football game which I had no control over affect my life and well-being.

When did our fan base become so fickle? Geez, sorry your kid (and you) had to suffer through an experience with insufferable fans.

I'll take the over, but will probably get screwed in this bet because Shane will trot out no less than 73 different running backs during the game.

Hiring offensive coordinators seems to be the most glaring.

I will say that I believe that Beamer is an ultra-delegator. I don't think he gets involved in offensive or defensive game planning and I doubt he often dictates which back should be running the ball. I think he trusts his coordinators to make decisions, thus, his biggest weakness has been in hiring OC's. Certainly with Stiney, but the OCainspring pairing didn't work. The Bustle hiring was interesting because he left for USC for a year (and Tranquill didn't fit at all), but then Bustle overstayed his welcome and Beamer didn't make a move. I'll leave the judgment on Loeffler for a few years down the road.

I think Beamer:
1. Hires his coordinators and trusts them to do their jobs,
2. Manages everything about every special teams,
3. Makes 4th down calls,
4. Calls timeouts,
5. Handles post-game handshakes,
6. Kisses babies.

And I don't have any problem with #'s 2-4. He's made some good calls, some bad calls. He's had some bad kickers but far more good kickers.

Like last week when we wasted a t.o after waiting nearly 3-4 minutes on that PI play. We should have had a play called in case the call got overturned.... But then again there was clearly no touching of the ball so the PI should have stood. #GOACC

I had no idea what he meant either. I think he may have thought you were a different person trolling...one of his regs.

Chip Kelly sorta did it at Oregon (HC + Offensive Playcaller).

I think if Bud were HC he would promote from within. And I'd be OK with that. Bud and his assistants seem to function as separate parts in one moving machine.
