I don't have any stats or specific examples that are popping into my head but I've always felt that HCFB struggles with end of half and end of game clock management. We always seem to have difficulty effectively using the clock and our timeouts to our best advantage. I'm sure French, Joe, or 3rd and 31 can give specific examples.

I think Logan is at the point where he'll take less chances in those situations to prevent turnovers, thereby throwing it out of bounds as you stated. The last two weeks of ridicule will have taken their toll on him and you can already tell hes been taking steps towards becoming a smarter quarterback by the way he scampers out of bounds on long scrambles rather than lowering the shoulder for extra yardage (unless hes trying to pick up a first). I just hope he will have learned his lesson and go towards the smart play when under pressure. One thing is for sure though, if we're assuming he'll been throwing it out of bounds more often to prevent a sack/fumble/interception, our defense will have to step it up to get the ball back to Logan as soon as possible.

Hope so, people were saying the same thing after the Duke game, though...

One has to admit, we are long overdue for a "good logan" game.

Is is weird that I could very easily see a 2011-esque Logan game this week and a Win @ Miami only to close out 0-2 against UMD and UVA?

Maybe so, but the easiest thing to fix is turnovers. Just throw it out of bounds and let the defense do their job.

I think we are going to see a very good LT this weekend.

If a good OC is in place, then yes I agree. Or, if he can lure a good OC. Perhaps, Loeffler will prove to be that guy.

If in 3 years, Beamer retires and Loeffler gets fired (not saying he will, but time will tell), would you want to hire one the hottest OCs running a power-style offense for HC or hire Bud and try and lure an unproven OC? Tough decision.

It may be true - but it is not telling.

Think of the games we lost last year. We were down by a lot early in games (Pitt/UNC come first to mind). We had to play from behind which led to a lot of passing attempts in the second half. Now look at the UNC/Pitt games from this year. We played conservative football in the second half in order to eliminate mistakes, keep our defense fresh, and run the clock.

So yes- the stats may be worse, but you can not go just by stats. From my eyes, and it seems like French and Mason agree, the offense seems to be progressing, despite the last two games.

The question was meant more to see if anyone has heard anything about his condition following that concussion two weeks ago. I wasn't suggesting that he should or shouldn't play more than exum. I leave those decisions to the coaches. It just seems he hasn't been talked about at all lately.

No he hasn't. Not to be mean but did you just make that up??? Maybe writing in sarcastica?

The record is 80. EIGHTY INTERCEPTIONS. Timmy Chang - Hawaii. FCS record is 76 INTs. Single season record - 34 INTs.

We won't have to worry about Logan breaking that record.

Dan Patrick reported their list is 1. Gruden 2. Sumlin. I think Sumlin takes the job, but you never know, Gruden could have that itch.

It was nice to see that there are so many CFB fans who have a sense of humor about their team...the UVA dude's joke was great.

This strikes me as a distinction without a difference.

"Do the same thing as the last two weeks, only hope your players execute better."

Seems like a Homer Simpson "When the race starts, run really fast." moment. "When the Miami game starts, execute on offense." :)

Bud is all about accountability. How many times have we seen players explode on the scene when others falter? You get no pass from Foster with poor performance. I think the team would be total Harbaugh-esque with him as coach. And the guy is in great shape and has the energy of a man 10 years younger. You can take the glitz of a Chad Morris and throw it down the crapper as far as I'm concerned. The game is still about D and running the ball and that's what we'd have with Bud.

I'd give anything to see us set up some short field opportunities by getting some good punt/kick returns............minus the stupid holding/block in the back penalties!!!! We seem to always have a good return when we need it.......only to be nullified by a senseless penalty.....

Go Hokies.........kick the sh@t out of the Canes!!!!

The best are the redit comments that people left that are serious about how 'Alabama will never lose to Chattanooga.' That post must be sponsored by The Onion correct?

It's not about doing the same thing and hoping for different results. It's about doing the same thing, only executing it better. A few minor improvements to the plan in the BC game and we win it easily.

Miami is really aggressive on FG blocks. Look for Beamer to pull out one of his fakes, he likes to do that when his back is against the wall.....like it is right now.

Seemed to have lit a fire under Randall's and Glennon' arses. Definitely made Randall work harder to win back Beamers confidence.

Ohh 1000 Turkey Legs to you sir! Me either its amazing at the amount of trolls on there. I liked my idea of having people sign in with same name every week. 3/4ths of this forum would be on there. I noticed a lot of names today!

How is this a downvote? First off, it's a question. Secondly, Facyson has been a stud this year. Come on.

"With only a weeks worth of practice, keeping a game plan that is similar to last week's, but with minor tweaks probably gives Tech its best shot at a win. Tactically it might not be the ideal choice, but the players will almost certainly be more comfortable using a read-based running attack at this point, if only because that's what they've been doing for weeks now. Considering the success the offense enjoyed last week (ignoring the turnovers), Loeffler might be best served in the short term by only making small adjustments to his overall Thomas-based strategy and hoping that the team improves their execution."

While I agree that you're probably right, I would hope you understand that "Do the exact same thing as the last two weeks and hope for different results" isn't the most comforting notion for a fan with regards to the offensive strategy for this game.

Especially when it appears that Miami's strategy is going to be "Do what BC did, only with much, much bigger, faster, and more talented athletes."
