lolz...I actually found this really funny. Still I stand in amazement at how we can somehow through film or logic justify 8ints. Maybe it's because of my career in finance but I'm just a bottom line kinda guy. As u were...

I'll play devils advocate.....

Does anyone here think it SO absurd to give another quality guy a chance when QB #1 is turning the ball over as much as Logan has in the last two games? You don't have to trash Logan and maybe the move isn't permanent but the message is.... "hey, we're going to give other guys a shot to make some plays. Keep your head up, you'll get back in there." A nudge to the sidelines to give hard working guys a chance rather than slamming the door and screaming "YOURE FIRED ASSHOLE!" Does that make sense?

I hear people saying we'd never have a chance without him and I have to question that assertion....is it because the coaches are always correct about who or what is best? (Frank JUST fired the offensive staff that took VT's offense to edge of oblivion over the last several years, what did we all think about THAT decision?) I won't say that I know better than them, but I can look at the results right now and I see that our quarterback, no matter what his name is, is turning the ball over at an alarming rate in the last couple of games in critical times. If Trey and Mark are so inferior to Thomas that they don't deserve a shot to prove themselves or at least make a play or two, then we must be triple fucked for next year and I'll pray that what they lack in Logans measurables and skill set, they'll make up for in 'quarterback play'. Logan is part of the reason this team has had a chance in a lot of games because of the amount of work he's being asked to execute, but he's also stuck the dagger in the team at times. I get why some people don't find that to be a savory combination.

Please no more comparing Logan Thomas to Bret Favre or Peyton Manning. We should hand write those two gentlemen an apology letter for such commentary.

I support Logan and know that he can make elite plays but the bottom line is that he doesn't deliver that kind of performance consistently. Here's hoping that he can finish strong until we thank him on his way out for all his blood sweat and tears.

I'm afraid you may be right. But I think the problem with this is that even though the coaches may be right, I think the beating LT has been taking may have something to do with the turnovers. Not questioning his toughness or leadership, but they are asking a lot of him. Also, we're talking about Duke and BC secondaries here. It'll be even more crucial to be able to move the ball on the ground against Miami than the past two weeks, and I think it's been getting more difficult for LT to play hero as he finds himself getting up off the ground more and more. But I have faith.

Miami is without their best WR and now just recently without their best player overall in Duke Johnson. Think it's going to be hard for Miami mentally coming down from the national spotlight against FSU to now playing a VT team that the national media is saying they should walk over. Feels like Miami fans are already talking about a rematch against FSU in the ACCCG. I could see Miami come out flat against VT.

LT had his best game ever against Miami in 2011 bouncing back from his worst game of his rookie season against Clemson. Hoping LT has a great bounce back game limiting turnovers.

As long as we minimize big plays and stay on the positive side in the turnover department, I think we have a chance.

Finally got past the .500 record I've been stuck at, need to make some moves

Wow, you're right! Why didn't Frank and Scott think of that? Gosh man, you otta head on down to the athletic office and apply for a coaching position ASAP cause you really seem to know which quarterback is best for the team - and at a fraction of the price. Or you can just have a nice warm glass of shut the hell up. I hope Logan stomps a mudhole in Miami this week and you derptards crawl back under your idiot boxes for the year.

In my experience, we didn't have anything in particular to yell. Sometimes we had a call if there is a play where the QB has a chance to break contain.

The big snafu with that play was that I believe BC switched up their D and the linebacker sat in front of the skiny post, and Logan needed to reset. McLaughlin gave him enough time to make the initial throw and reset, but rarely on a play action off of option where the QB is very shallow in the pocket does the QB have enough time to reset and find something besides a check down. One of the hard things about our film is you can't always see the routes develop down field, and I couldn't see that one. He clearly didn't expect the hit though.

McLaughlin had a tough day, but he was playing a very good fifth year senior in #91. It was a tough match up. Loeffler couldn't help him as much because he needed Cline down field and Edmunds on the interior to handle A gap blitzes.

I'd like to see more of that as well. But bear in mind that our coaches see these guys in practice and/or the weight room every day. They aren't blind and they aren't stupid. The fact that they continue to emphasize Logan Thomas and the read option so much leads me to think that it's simply the least bad option that we have right now.

Our problem the last two weeks hasn't been a failure to move the ball. We've actually put up some pretty good yardage numbers. We're losing games because of turnovers, not a stagnant offense.

I wish to God we could recruit and develop O-linemen as well as Boston College does. Year in and year out, no matter whatever deficiencies they may have elsewhere, they always seem to have a big, physical, well-coached offensive line.
