Breaking News: The Hurricane lost strength travelling through Tallahassee on its path to Miami. Forecasters say it's just a Tropical Depression as of now!

I don't understand what you are exactly getting this from. I love Frank. Do I wish he was more aggressive sometimes? Yes. But I know he has built this program from the ground up and I do believe he can win a National Championship. He deserves to be the head coach as long as he is doing what he can to get there. And I've supported Logan since he came to Virginia Tech. I've just finally concluded that he is only a good quarterback, not a great one, which really isn't his fault since he didn't have very good coaching early on as well as not being brought up as a quarterback like most are. When I say he is good, but not great, I mean that he doesn't make everyone around him better. Great quarterbacks, no matter who is on their team, make the players around them better. Look at Peyton, Brady, and Luck. No matter what team they are on or what skill players they have, they win and make others look good. Logan had weapons around him in 2011 and played phenomenal. The last two years, he hasn't had as strong of a supporting cast and he hasn't played as well. I still prefer Logan over anyone else we have right now, but I'm just disappointed because I thought he would be great for us. I still think he can be great, but his time has run out here (although he certainly could turn it around for the rest of season too) and so he will have to become great in the Pros. Had the new coaches gotten here sooner or even had an o-line that could run block, I don't think we would be having this conversation.

As for the hiring of the coaches? I am disappointed. Yes. I expected more by now, but I don't think they were mistakes. I think they will develop a nice scheme for Tech. I just am confused why we see a lot of the same stuff from before (bubble screens, running out the shotgun way too much, etc.) and seem to cycle through the same 8 to 10 plays a game. That concerns me, but I don't think it will stay a concern. I have a friend that is a manager who says we have a ton of different plays and always run them in practice, so that is why I am scratching my head during the game and criticize.

As for questioning our fan hood, I am highly disappointed. I have loved Virginia Tech since I was 5 years old, am a student now that stays until 00:00 every game as well as going to every ACC champ./bowl games the last 4 years and whatever away games I can afford. I yell every play and do whatever I can as a fan to help the team win (literally almost passed out at the Alabama game and not from drinking). Yet, that doesn't mean I can't voice my opinion and suggest what problems we have or how I think they could be fixed. It doesn't matter what I say because nothing I say is going to change anything. But it makes me feel more of a fan, caring enough to have an opinion or say something. So I'll be rooting for us the rest of my life and no doubt hope to see Logan come out looking like a man on a mission against Miami this Saturday.

As a fan, help your team! Drink like a champ on game day if it's what you do! If your going to Lane, scream until you call out of work Monday! You come to expect angry fans, rants, and venting when you drop 2 straight. But geesh, put down your bottle and be a Hokie.

Yeah one of those "This post received too many negative votes." thing would be nice. As long as the 'show the post anyway' thing was there, too.

Agreed, but I do think we should be able to vent a little on here. Let's not go overboard with vulgarity or personal attacks or anything, but this is a large community of like-minded people who sometimes get frustrated with what we see. I'm all for a little sky-is-falling attitude every now and again, if only to get it out of our collective systems.

Time to sack up and get behind our guys! I haven't seen any quit in this team, they've been grinding all year. Maybe it's time the more positive members of Hokie Nation become more vocal, and drown out the naysayers.

I for one can't wait till 7pm next saturday.
Go Hokies, beat Miami!

I've been in disappointed in the losses the last two weeks, but there are encouraging signs. Mostly the way the team is still playing hard and keeps supporting each other. Case in point, was how they were pumping up Journell (who has had an up and down year) before and after that 56 yd kick. The offense has been racking up yards compared to our opponents. I see a lot of good plays, but it's the mistake plays that are killing us. I like Logan, and he's made some brutal mistakes the past couple of weeks, but he also is the same player who led the offense the previous three games and played good mistake free football.

I'm looking forward to see the Hokies get a little revenge on the U, and get the Hokies back on track. I want to see these guys finish the season with some more wins and it starts next week with Miami. So sack up, enjoy rooting on your team, and start to become the excitable 12th man VT football has been known for.

Seeing their struggle with Wake and ___ (someone else I can't recall) earlier in the year. I like the idea of it, we just have to protect the ball.

Yeah, I was just thinking, we saw exactly what happens when we face a top RB. Granted Miami will throw more than BC so hopefully we can force them into some turnovers and don't let them grind it out. Crawford is pretty elusive as well so it's not like they don't have someone.

Perfectly said! Saying that Logan is your best option is a sad statement and poor coaching. Logan is not superman and cannot win a game on his own. When the coaches say that he is the best option, than the coaches are saying they have no confidence in other players ,ultimately they are admitting that they are poor coaches. If you listen long enough to the rhetoric you can read between the lines.

I did some quick scouting because I like LT but I feel bad for his predicament...

Here are some numbers for FSU (backups are *):

Kelvin Benjamin: 6-5 234
*Jesus Wilson: 5-9 177
Kenny Shaw: 6-0 170
*Christian Green: 6-2 200
Levonte Whitfield: 5-7 178
*Rashad Greene: 6-0 180
*Isaiah Jones: 6-4 200

Starting Oline:
6-6 320; 6-6 322; 6-4 300; 6-4 330; 6-4 315;

Here we are:

DJ coles: 6-4 234
Joshua Stanford: 6-1 191
Demitri Knowles: 6-1 180
Willie Byrn: 5-10 179
Charley Meyer: 6-1 215

Oline:
6-5 292; 6-4 296; 6-2 299; 6-3 308; 6-5 313

Logan's surrounding cast, just from a size standpoint is subpar. Benedict, our largest Oline only outweighs there center. Their backup o-line is even bigger. Joshua Stanford and Dj Coles are our most comparable receivers size wise but DJ has still not fully returned and Stanford isn't always consistent. I am not trying to make excuses and say LT played great aside from his receivers. What I am saying is that there is not a lot of firepower around him and he isn't great when he has to do it all by himself. This will probably be my last post for a while--I'd rather just lurk around, up vote people and read french then get involved in a QB war like what has happened.

If you honestly think UVA has a chance, then you haven't watched any of their games. It's like watching a mediocre high school team. Their defense is the best part of their team, but it still isn't that great (I know, I know, 'best third down defense'). It's a rivalry game so it will be closer than it should be, but I see it be just like the GT/UNC games that were close on the scoreboard, but we really dominated the game.

My man BillDozerVT, I know you're plate is pretty full with being a boss and the constant maintenance of having giant balls but if you can put together the Miami hype video that we all need right now, I'll forever be indebted to you. By forever be indebted, of course I mean I will buy you and your compatriots a round of rails if we ever cross paths at TOTS.

Agreed! Logan is not a quarter back, he is an athlete that the coaches have been trying to turn into a quarter back.He has been pushed into a position with the dream of having a Cam Newton , they have hurt him and will not admit it, that is why no matter how bad he plays they have to back him to cover there mistake. They will place the blame on the running backs, receivers and offensive line, no matter how much they try to cover their mistakes the bottom line is, if your players are not producing than the coaches are not doing their job. Leal should have been given an opportunity last year to gain experience and confidence. What makes Logan so special that he can make mistakes and is never pulled from a game . When the coaches say in their interviews "if your making consistent mental errors we will evaluate the players position". I have watched Tech football for years and I see a decline in the program.

At the beginning of the season, many of us figured this would be the game that defined the season. Guess what? It still is. I hope our guys know that and show up to play. After two very disappointing weeks, there's a lot to prove.

iunno man I've been saying it since day one i think top RB in the country goes to andre williams, the dude has it all size speed and power but Duke is definitely in the top 3 the dudes legit and i wish id get to watch him live :\
