The polarity of trying to compare our offense and defense is ridiculous. As low as needing to be competing with practice sleds to as high as the 1985 Bears. It's funny and very sad because it's so true

Instead "all he got was a one-way ticket to Palookaville."

Noticed the PSU fans are wondering why no offer and saying they can offer him and he'll go there- I doubt it. I think the guy is all VT

He is an athlete. And yes, he currently plays QB and has for most of his football career. However, that does not necessarily mean he is a QB.

In high school, a lot of coaches place the talented kids in certain positions. Some giant comes along, can sling the ball, "Oh, best make him the QB". When you have so many other kids that aren't that talented in the high school game, you make sure the ball is in your athletes hands. If he played high school ball at another school with other top talent, I bet he wouldn't have been a QB. This is why he was recruited as a TE. In fact, it's well documented that he never wanted to play QB at VT.

So you're saying he'll be on the hot seat despite having only 1 recruiting class in and no returning qb? I say next year is a bit of a transition year. He certainly can't lose his job, but continuing to do poorly won't be great. 2015 is a big year in evaluating him, though.

I too was quoted, but they took it out of context and didn't quote the end of my sentence...

"I don't know if you've noticed, but Logan Thomas gives us the best chance to win every game from the offense. He's not a quarterback. We all know that"

there is more to it. I had to elaborate on this comment in the original thread because the contradictory statements were confusing...

Yes, I know how the redshirt works. My feeling is that if the kid has the talent I want him stoked. I want him dying to get into the game. I want him working every second to pry his way onto that field. If he is Loeffler's guy, make him salivate for that opportunity and who is to say that after four, five, six games he isn't the starter and the rest is history.

Maybe I'm dreaming.

I think I downvoted one time. (At least in recent memory.) It was posted by someone trying to provoke the TKP community with a few posts, and then they posted a pic of Cav man. I downvoted him, but then posted a comment that he needed to bring something better than that weaksauce to this site if he wanted to really play. All TKP'rs don't fall for silly little jabs. But we will go toe to toe with a witty, well informed fan, no matter for whom they root.

I find it hard to argue against much of what has been laid out here, but I personally can give Loeffler some sort of pass after watching our receivers run the wrong routes and drop a myriad of passes, our quarterback overthrow and miss wide open receivers, and top running back miss holes that are there and he should be hitting. Another thing, and I can only guess, is that Beamer has made it clear how he wants the offense managed and that's how Loeffler is playing it.

No doubt Malzahn has the mind of an offensive genius, but he must have (and have had) some talent to work with. My opinion, folks, is this year we have absolutely none on offense. If I were a recruit who wanted to play from the first day, I'd enroll at Virginia Tech.

Knowles looked a lot better on kickoffs this past week. He was getting up the field fast and also managed to break a defenders ankles on one of his returns. KJ needs work though.

oh my god... that is an amazing image.

At least those that do have a lot of passion. I mean look at that girl in the middle! I bet she'll be hoarse tomorrow!!

We can redshirt him and still have him as the backup. As long as he doesn't play a snap, he's still redshirting. Redshirting doesn't mean you don't dress for the game, it just means you don't play. It can be pulled at any time and he can be put in the game, see Tyrod against LSU in 2007 and again in 2008 after ECU.

I wouldn't redshirt him. If he isn't ready to start, but could play backup I'd keep him on the sidelines involved and ready to play - whether that be mop up duty or in relief for an injured starter. If he is as good as we hope, do you honestly think he will stick around for four years, let alone five?

So I guess you're not supposed to be quoted by username? I looked at this and recognized a lot of the comments, but then saw that they were essentially all attributed to thekeyplay by default, and no one person had their username associated with their quotes. I guess that is the way it is? I was not quoted, but I won't lie, I was hoping to see "[the nonsense I usually spew]" ~ HorseOnATreadmill
