Whippersnapper.

I remember going up to Boston in 2006 and getting heartbroken. That's okay. I have no real beef against Boston. They're just a team. It sucks that they scored all these points late in the fourth quarter though.

I remember standing in the rain in 2007 and getting heartbroken. This is not okay. I have beef against Boston. They're the team who did this to us last year. It sucks they scored all these points late in the fourth quarter.

Ever since, the mention of the name Boston involves thinking of that 2007 game and the pain. I am going to make a framed needlepoint that just says 2007.

Anyone remember when we had a linebacker in 2002 named Vegas Robinson? We played Air Force in our bowl game. The bowl commentators kept calling him Ferguson ALL game.

As many have said now, Logan Thomas is not a TE. He may have a tight end build, as far as size, athleticism, etc, but he's a QB. He's been a QB, he is a QB, will continue to be a QB, and most importantly, he's our QB. Not to mention he holds a good number of VT quarterback records. Saying "oh, he's a TE, not a QB" after having a bad game is like coming out after the Alabama game and saying our receivers were DBs not WRs because they can't catch.

Florida is such a good description of which team VT is most like. That UF-Miami game was reincarnated last week in the form of VT-Duke. Computers are too smart.

Saw Reggie, but would put him third on the list of the greats I've seen....1. Bruce 2. Deacon Jones 3. Reggie

Best defensive lines as a unit, anyone? Purple People Eaters of the late 70's are up there (they'd be my choice)..the Rams of the early 70's...Cowboys of the Jimmy Jones era?

Ok, I'm giving you a turkey leg for the screenname, but you gotta explain it, dude.

Funny. I'm a "real" season ticket holder and had pretty much the same responses. I was a little more toward the middle (3-4 instead of 1).

My things for improvement: improving the games at experience such as kickoff times (more 3:30 and night games), and for the love of god STOP LETTING THE OTHER TEAM ENTER DURING SANDMAN (that really bugs me...it's our thing!).

I was not a popular man when I said that in the stands one game.

Pep rallies are actually pretty enjoyable I think--they usually are in front of the GLC on a Thursday or Friday before a home game, and happen three or so times a year.

We'll get the best of the 4... Competition will bring out the best in them

I don't know why but he kind of reminds me of Connor Shaw back when he got picked up. To me it will be really refreshing to see someone who actually plays QB take the reigns of this offense. No offense to Logan Thomas I mean no disrespect but, LT is a TE not a QB. Looking forward to seeing this dude come through in Loeffler's new system.

Seriously. All Glennon-bashing aside, he could've been a much different qb if he had a line.

He's gonna get redshirted most likely. Leal has been in the system and waiting for his shot, which he should get imo next year while Ford redshirts.

The only type of posts I'll consistently downvote are comments that contain the terms uvagay or uvgay. It's pretty offensive to compare the homosexual community to UVA. But in all seriousness, using gay as an insult needs to go.

A lot was made over the spring/summer of the installation of the zone blocking techniques. I was under the impression that this was a "new world order"-type thing and zone blocking would be what we use from here on out. However, it seems to me that you and Mason have implied that some plays are run with zone blocking and some aren't. My questions are:

  • Roughly what percentage of running plays are we calling with zone blocking versus man?
  • Is our ineffectiveness in zone-blocking (e.g. Benedict's issues reaching the end, overall line quickness) influencing the play-calling towards non-zone-blocking plays?

Loeffler's offense will go as far as his recruiting ability will take him. I'd be willing to keep him assuming he's making progress. Another full year (2014) out of the top 100 offenses wouldn't qualify as progress. And next year he won't have a returning QB.

2014 Hot Seat alert!
