It's this one that gets me worried:

I'm always like: 'Get up Frank, get back up!' thinking 'is he having angina, or light-headedness?'
This is why I'm glad I live in Blacksburg now instead of Maryland.

That was the Miami game. It was awesome. They have actually done a good job this year of letting the song play a little bit in, but it doesn't get to the chorus so I'm always the only one singing.

Don't be so fast to give complete praise to the article. It goes on to say that due to Beamer's "nice guy" attitude, Virginia Tech will settle for losing the big game at the end of the year as it is balanced by having a great season prior. Obviously the main takeaway from the article is that Tech does football the right way through hard work and great coaching but I gotta say they're right. We have sputtered in numerous big games in recent history. Don't get me wrong, I am one of Beamer's biggest fans and will be sad when he finally steps down, I just wish we could win the big games more often. Looking forward to an exciting second half of the season!

Miami 2011 is way up there though 3OT Marshall this year looking back was pretty sweet.
For pure band experience going down to Savannah for St Pattys day cant really be beat, though NYC for it was nice.
No great Skiddley Bop quote though some of his attempts to get the percussion to grove have damn near killed me.
Green chilis FTW!
Maybe I should make my picks when I'm only semi-coherent in the middle of night more often....
There was one basketball game, I think last year, where there was some delay just before tipoff (I think the ceiling had a small leak or something, and they dried the court), and it got all the way through the first verse and chorus, and the ref tossed the ball up right after the line "off to never never land" finished. It was perfect.

Fortunately you most likely are running to a bathroom anyway...
If and when I have kids, I'll start one of those leagues with you.

My Tech email back then was repeter, so I just extended it.
Can you please just shove this post into the face of every single parent you see? I can't believe what I hear from some of these people who just want to baby their kid and make sure little Timmy is happy all the time and don't give a crap about the kid actually developing some character, personality or toughness. And I'm not talking about "lock him in a freezer for 3 days so he'll stop bitching about the snow" toughness, I'm talking about "well, stuff didn't go my way this time, I need to figure out how to deal with it and move on" toughness.
At some point the very parents complaining about this are the one's that are responsible. My job as a parent is to teach my kids how to win and lose with dignity and how to be a good sport. The problem is that parents are getting lazy and don't want to have to do this and expect the little league system to. It doesn't work that way.
I know we here on the TKP boards sing our team's praises often, but damn it feels good when someone else does it!

ALL DAY, ERRYDAY!
