There's one rule here at TKP.

No pants.

Not a bad argument, but the problem is UVa won't have a ton of cash to shell out after buying out London in the proposed scenario. My guess is the boosters and program as a whole will be pretty pissed about paying a lot for a coach that didn't pan out, only to have to pay a ton of money to get rid of him.

We all are, 3rd & 31, we all are.

Some of us still have our pants on though.

The fact that Settle is visiting for the second time this month is very very good.

I'm starting to get really really excited about this recruiting class.

well I don't REALLY think that would ever happen, but let's have a little fun with this

he saw that UVA was willing to shell out a ton of cash to a coach from FCS so they should be willing to shell out even more cash for somebody with a more proven track record in FBS.

He probably thinks he could have a ton of success with the recruits London has drawn to the program in a short amount of time...

this way he moves up to a head coaching position at a garbage program, turns it around quickly and his stock skyrockets so he can bolt for another program that will pay him even MORE moneys....

plus he thinks he has a lot of success against VT which (besides miami) is the only real obstacle in the coastal division. If he could get UVA to the ACCCG for the first time ever that would validate him as a top notch head coach...he's got to be banking on getting offers from more promising programs (maybe Ohio State will have an opening after Urban has heart murmurs or creates some other condition to bolt before losing a game)

well that was fun. go for it guys, tear it up!

I don't think Dabo's crazy for this comment... I think FSU's a better team, and I think they'd probably win 6-7 games out of 10, but Dabo's right; this performance wasn't an accurate representation of Clemson. Teams don't play their best ball every night.

That being said, his statement wasn't the smartest thing to say after a game like that.

Tim Settle returning to Blacksburg. Derrick Nnadi in attendance. I am giddy.

Well, it took Navy 43 tries to beat Notre Dame (and that was in a row, not overall).

I played in one game where we won 17-3. We honestly couldn't even just pass around. The other coach has his keeper playing at midfield because he didn't know what offsides was. What else were we supposed to do when we had to clear the ball and it already went past the keeper at midfield?

The better question is, why would Chad Morris accept a job at UVa? He's earned better.

Front page of roanoke times sport page: Mike London "I know how to win." I died laughing in the break room.

I actually read somewhere that the opposing coach even said it was just an unfortunate situation and he knew there was no malicious intent on the other sideline.

When you start playing at a competitive level in sports, whether it be a travel team, competitive rec leave, and definitely high school, it's not all about having fun anymore. You're playing to win and if you can't win and you can't stop the other team's 3rd and 4th string from running you up and down the field then either get better, learn to take a beating, or quit. It's really that simple.

My high school football team gets this all the time. We run the ball 95% of the time, but we're pretty decent. We play in a very rural area, and my high school is by no means a big school, but some schools struggle to even get a team together. We will play them and absolutely destroy them. After halftime we are playing our backups' backups and running the ball literally every play, the other team just can't stop it. What is the dominant team supposed to do? Tell the kids who barely get to see the field that they have to take a knee before crossing the plane? Should they fumble on purpose?

I hate parents like this. If you don't like watching your kids get their butts handed to them, tell them to get better, teach them some dedication. If they can't do that then they can quit.

I'll defend fernleyhokie here. I think what he's trying to say is that:

UVA has been struggling for a while now. They cannot just continue to flip through coaches until they hit the jackpot. They have to show some faith and let London go for awhile. It's an $8 million buy-out, that's not chump change.

It's basic economics, UVA believes that they will get better value from giving London another year or two than by firing him now and hiring some new guy.

how is this bullying. I have been on both sides of this when I played sports. I played soccer and found it irritating when a team was beating us by 5-7+ and then just passed the ball around. I'd rather have them keep doing what they were doing before than get pity. At least you can learn something if they are going 100%. Play in a rec league if you want it to be about fun

Am I'm reading these rankings correctly? I see the Hokies coming in at #8 while last week we were #16.

Oh, I definitely don't think of that as ungrateful. I still can't find the gif. Sent out a twitter SOS, I really want it!

Unbelievable. The fact that the school district took this seriously and investigated makes me sick. I'm going to order an Aledo Football tshirt online now.

Sweet butter on a roll!
Can I dream a bit?......If we could score Nnadi and get some LB help (I'm looking at you Mr Lee) this has to be one of the better and most well-rounded classes in VT history.
By my take, there will be no holes....(maybe TE?)

turkey leg for watching it...
And that's phenomenally funny. Good stuff!!!
