i like that windbreaker. i probably would have traced around my hand and then drew the legs and beak.

One thing that the Hat does better than anyone else in the country is he prepares his guys to go out and win, and then he lets them go do it. How many times has he made a crazy play call that has worked? Why do you think it works? It works because he doesn't get too full of himself to realize that it's the players that are out on the field making the plays. He makes crazy calls because he wants the players to take responsibility for winning the game. And the players respond, most of the time.

Clemson has done quite well the last few years -- better than VT in many regards. However it is amazing how they manage to get humiliated in key games. The VT Orange Bowl game against Stanford was almost as bad (40-12 Stanford). But fortunately for VT, that happens rarely. Clemson seems to make it a habit.

I think the computer rankings throw out your highest and lowest, as a sort of sanity check. I'm also pretty sure that one of them looks at your last 12 games, stretching into last year, so they won't be perfect until the end of the season.

While we're on the topic of classes, according to 247, VT's is currently ranked #21 and UVA's is currently ranked #35. It's not like they've got a top-10 class they're trying to keep together here.

Every opponent left scares me! BUT Duke is next so they scare me the most! Let's put another in W column.

Maryland wanted to fire him earlier, but couldn't afford to buy out his contract. Then, once the decision had already been made, he won 9 games...

That's how I've understood it at least.

From coacheshotseat.com (and overly dramatic, if you ask me):

10. Mike London, Virginia We are biased here at Coaches Hot Seat.we admit that all of the time.and for a long time now we have kept Virginia head coach off of the top of the Coaches Hot Seat Rankings for biased reasons BUT after UVAs disastrous home loss to Duke on Saturday the votes came in and.

Mike London is on the Hot Seat

.and the only way for London to get off the Hot Seat is to start winning some football games in Charlottesville.

In his fourth season on the job at Virginia Mike London has put up win/loss records of

Overall: 18 26

ACC: 8 19

.and though we are talking about Virginia which is not exactly a football power the TRUTH is that the two previous UVA head football coaches Al Groh and George Welsh both put up .500 Plus Overall and ACC records during their tenures

Al Groh at Virginia

Overall: 59 54

ACC: 36 36

George Welsh at Virginia

Overall: 134 85 3

ACC: 85 51 3

.and there is no reason in HELL that Mike London should be held to some kind of lower standard than any other recent head football coach at Virginia and that is why Mike London finds himself on the

HOT SEAT!

Virginia is now

2 5

on the season and the Cavaliers have left.

Georgia Tech
Clemson
At North Carolina
At Miami
Virginia Tech

..and if Virginia plays the way it did against Duke then we dont believe that Cavaliers will win another game this season and even if London and UVA win 2 of their last 5 games then they will finish at

4 8

.which will be the THIRD time that Virginia has finished at

4 8

under Mike London and the previous head coach at UVA Al Groh got run out of town and in 9 seasons on the job at Virginia and Groh only won less than 5 games in a season

1 Time

A good friend of ours who has his undergraduate degree from Virginia and his MBA from one of those Arrogant Pompous Ivy League schools and is a person that could buy most of the state of Virginia if he had a hankering to do so told a Coaches Hot Seat member on Sunday.

What I am sick of tired of is Virginia football looking like it is hardly coached going back to the last four or five seasons Welchs time at the school.

which means our UVA-alum friend is sick and tired of Virginia football looking like is hardly coached for about 15 years now!

Coach em up Mike London or you will not only put at risk those two 5-star recruits you have committed to Virginia right now but you also are going to put your job at risk no matter what Virginia AD Craig Littlepage says.

Virginia AD says Mike London will return next season, Mark Giannotto, Washington Post

.unless of course Craig Littlepage is grading the job that Mike London is doing on one kind of scale and he graded Al Groh on another kind of scale which would strike us as very Damn odd since it was Littlepage that sent Groh packing after Groh put up 3 of 4 losing seasons which is exactly what London and Virginia are looking at right now and after all this is the

University of Virginia

..right?

Right.

Probably because his wife was trying to serve pie AND/OR cake and he likes NEITHER

London just called a timeout to ice his wife from getting out of bed this morning. Smooth move, Mike

Since I'm a fan and not a player/coach, I have every right not to be concerned with anyone left on the schedule.

But if I must choose, I'd say BC.

im really annoyed that game is at 1 PM on a Tuesday as part of ESPNs 24 hr basketball thing. one of our best home games and how many students will be there? i know i cant cause of class where they take attendance

What does this team have to fear??? Complacency, lack of execution, injury, losing its chemistry, becoming one-dimentional, and Overconfidence. We could lose to any of the teams left on our schedule.

That being said, IMO we match up worse with Duke and BC than we do Miami. Sound football teams with running QBs always give us the worst time. Duke and BC have that, Miami, not so much.

Amazingly good classes when you consider they went 4 and 8 last year (and should have lost to Penn St.) and will be lucky to get 4 wins this year. Top 25 recruiting, bottom 25 coaching.

< sarcastica > Isn't it Bryn???

of a certain avian variety? A certain ornithological piece?
