I want to see a better return game. An offense that can finish their drives, not score one touchdown and then settle for field goals the rest of the game. When we're on the one yard line, we need to score. 2 or 3 times this year we've been at 1st and Goal on the 1 and ended up with a 3rd down from the 5. Unacceptable. And I want to see a pass rush that starts to get some more strip sacks. With how many sacks we have, I want some turnovers off them too.

i feel like we'll handle duke. bc on the other hand, all i know is that bad things happen to both the football and basketball teams when they jet up to chestnut hill. it's like a vortex of pro-sports town meh and the hokies are consumed by it.

Pretty much. Same thing will happen with Auburn. They'll be dropping soon too because I don't see them having fewer than 3 losses for the season.

A Win!
Some fire, and a refined O. Loeffler has them trending in the right direction. Time to have it all come together.

Yep. I think this defense is good enough to keep FSU under 28 points if they play great. The question will be, and will remain to be the entire season--can the offense put up the points needed to win?

i just cant help but see parallels to "clemsoning" and us being "chokies." people build a program up and any loss for any reason at any time becomes clemsoning for them and us being chokies before last year. dont get me wrong i feel no sympathy for clemson, i just see those similarities in program perception.

I truly wonder if we could predict all SEC teams' rankings over time as a damped harmonic oscillator...

The individual who wrote the comment must have been a Clemson fan -

The writers are just idiots; could you be more negative? This type of media crap is part of what is wrong with football."

It's clear to me that however one wants to describe that game, it was a beat-down of epic proportions on national television, puncturing the vastly over-filled balloon of Clemson hopes this year. I was personally quite pleased with the results, regardless of whether or not it can be described as "Clemsoning".

It'll come down to two things, turnovers and red zone touchdowns.

And pussy touchdowns. We must deny them their pussy touchdowns.

I can't root for Miami. Besides, if FSU keeps succeeding, that's good for the ACC, and maybe, just maybe, if a lot of things go right for us, we get a chance to avenge 2000. But you're right, that sequence of events starts with Duke so that's where the focus needs to be - our next game and not anybody else's.

It'sjust setting it up so that when South Carolina and LSU beat them the next two weeks, the pollsters can say "well, that Mizzou team was once the number 5 team in the nation, so we should put USCe and LSU back in the top 10 again because ESS EEE CEE!"

So obviously I'm more focused on Duke because they showed us last year that they aren't a joke anymore. But in 2 weeks Miami plays FSU. I expect FSU to spank them, but who do we pull for?

I wish there was a game by game database of all the college football stats so I could just write queries and automate calculations. Life would be great, no?

Yes, Clemsoning doesn't happen in one week in my book. There needs to be a downward spiral, not just 1 loss to a top 2 opponent. This could have been the start of a Clemsoning, but we'll need a few weeks to see for sure.

I hope Jarrett Boykin gets 100 catches for 1000 yards and 10 td every game and the packers lose.
