Awesome write up, I learn so much more from pictures and videos that I ever will with the X/O diagrams that football ignoramuses like me have a hard time processing.

I have a little bone to pick, though. I agree that four days is an absurdly short time to prepare for GT's offense, but I think this year is a little different than normal. We have Foster, obviously, but we also have a lot of players that have seen this offense before, and Vad Lee is worse at running PJ's offense than any quarterback we've seen in recent years. No doubt he's a better passer, and no doubt that he'll get better at it in the future, but our D has had more experience defending it than he has running it, so I think this year was definitely the best year for us to have to play them on four days' rest.

One nervous thought on Exum coming back. First I am very excited about Exum finally being back. He is one of my favorite people on our team. I mean that on and off the field. He is an amazing person and a great representative of VT in every way. I am glad to see our defensive staff easing him into the game plan. However he has to get in quickly as to prove himself and not further injure draft stock. I have one big fear as it pertains to his coming back out full. Early last season many were calling for Exum's head due to the amount of pass interference calls just how they have been to Bonner this week. (Bonner also made some clutch plays last week) This was mostly because he was getting used to the position from his transition in the offseason. I think if they re open Exum Island Day Care we could be looking at some pass interference calls until he gets back up to game speed and beats the psychological parts of overcoming something like this. In coverage you grab all the time but you definitely grab when you feel as if someone is getting the best of you or has a step on you. This will happen, I hope people on this blog don't forget he is coming off a tremendous injury that would end most careers.

Thanks for the write up. As always, absolutely fantastic. Thanks to this site, I'm seeing things I never really saw before. For starters, the TD pass at the start of the game was a play of beauty. Every time they showed the replay, I was gushing with praise for the design and execution of that play. Give a WR an open field catch and one person to beat (who is being blocked by another WR) and it's surefire win.

Along those lines...maybe we could "limit" the alternate unis to the Thursday night games. And stick to the traditional unis for the Saturdays (except maybe a military appreciation day in September!)

I had a Real Estate Law class that went until about 6 or so on Thursdays and he refused to cancel class. But he seemed to find it entertaining that about half the class was drinking during his lecture.

All in all, just another good time.

Totally agree! Especially considering at times this young receiver group is just going too drop the ball. That takes even more probability out of it working.

They best apply for one. And we best wear #AME as well.

While you're at it, reinstate "Stick it In", the painted endzones a la 1999 and black uniforms with more matte helmets.

I'm not sure what everyone else's experiences were, but I recall my professors planning their exams around Thursday night games. I cannot recall ever having an exam the morning after a Thursday night game. Several of my professors even mentioned that they had considered it, then decided to move the exam. Yet another reason why VT > GT.

This should be written into the contract!!!!
Not sure how our Thursday night games rate, but would guess that they are fairly high on the Thursday night list.
They have got to love going to Blacksburg on Thursday nights. (Just hope they give us more than 5 days off after a ranked opponent....)

Don't sleep on this UNC crowd. They're actually a tough bunch.

I think I'm starting to see the method to the madness of offering this site for free. You guys are trying to apply the "Next Man Up" concept to coaching: If Beamer, Foster, or Loeffler go down in the middle of a game, you guys are trying to make it possible to pull any single person out of the stands at Lane and see no drop-off in coaching. Seriously, though, thanks for all of the time you guys put into this... you all do just an incredible job analyzing and explaining.

I'd hope we can keep him, too. That's a big guy for a DB. Plus, we'll be losing Fuller IV and Facyson in two or three years, soo...

Someone posted paid content. That's all.

Yet alone a senior QB that has had his share of ups and downs. If he continues to play similar to how he did last Thursday, I sure could see ESPN finding a way to call him the "comeback player of the year" in the ACC.

The thing I have seen that makes me the happiest is the crossing routes. I swear they did not exist the past couple of years. I'll take 8 yard completions all day. Tom Brady makes a living in that region, and one of the reasons he has started cold is that he has really missed Welker doing that dirty work. Great write up. It's so nice to see we have a true chess player in the booth calling the plays now.

Sounds good to me. Sounds like he's trying to visit with his his future teammates and potential future teammates. CJ's coming, too.

Note, I have no idea what happened up at the top of this post but it I gather that something was posted that wasn't ours and appears to have been removed by Joe? Confusing.

I don't think he is really yelling more than saying what I even agree with: If she is so awful why are we honoring her by reading her blog so much? If HD and ESPN exec's looked at TKP, they would know she is doing a great job...good or bad people are reading and talking about her stuff on a daily basis.

The way I see it, if you don't like a product, you stop consuming it and you move on to the next best thing.
