ESPN doesn't understand the difference between the pylons and hokie stone

These unis are legit, so legit in fact that some Jackets think we're distracting from their field's Centennial!

They also called it ugly, which actually upsets me, given what the helmet symbolizes. The seam bothers me a bit, but I really do like the finished design.

Ahhhhhhhh, they called the Pylons pillars I cannot explain how awful it is to hear people call them that.

Georgia Tech has screen printed numbers...is this a D-1 football program?

Last minute picks:

VPI at GiT -6.5
LSU at UGA -3.5
OU -3.5 at ND
Ole Miss at bama -16.5
Arizona at UDub -8.5
Wiscy at tOSU -7.5

My high school usually runs some type of option offense and a couple years ago we had a team that was pretty good at it (State Quarter Finals). That year was mostly traditional veer out of split backs. I remember at least once (and there were probably other times) when the QB pulled the ball out of the dive back's gut and kept it. The dive back was stopped about 3-5 yards down the field and the refs blew the whistle, at the same time the QB was about 30 yards down the field with no one around him heading for the endzone. It was a game that we won easily and we eventually scored on that possession, so having to replay the down didn't really affect the outcome of the game, but I still thought its a good example of how hard it can be to know who has the ball in an option offense.

Anyone else getting the feeling that GT is going to open up with a pass deep? I feel like they're going to try to throw us off-balance and challenge our young CBs early.

I bet Tech comes out in a five or four wide package with multiple runningbacks (Edmunds, Coleman, mangus and/or Caleb) because of Coleman skill set and Mangus and Caleb's experience at WR.

Could run all types of reads, options, triple options, jet sweeps, screens, short passing routes with this package. And Logan as an inside rushing threat. That's what my ideal offense would look like if I was Offensive Coordinator.

I just want to hear Bill or Mike say that one time before I die.

Hmmm...Maroon Effect is Oct. 5 against UNC. That would be a logical choice, but then again when has logic ever gotten in the way of a crazy uniform choice?

One thing I failed to mention in my preview:

My biggest concern heading into this game is how the young corners Brandon and Kendall hold up in run support on the perimeter. Last season the Hokies had what was almost certainly the best tackling duo at CB in the nation, Kyle Fuller and Antone Exum. Matchup nightmares for the Georgia Tech WR's trying to block them.

This season? Kendall and Brandon have been brilliant against the pass, but tonight we'll learn just how tough they are against bigger WR's. If they can't hold their blockers off and force the run back inside, or if they can't make the one on one tackle in space, the Hokies will be in bad shape.

They both need to have brilliant games tonight.

im so freaking excited about the maroon pants....we may get actually get a #allmarooneverything game this year

Huge game tonight, I have a good feeling about this game, but no matter what remember that it could be March and there could be not football!

I gotta say, I love the helmets. Of course the almost all maroon is awesome, but those helmets are much better than you would expect from all the flak they've gotten.
