BBQ in WV?....hmmm...I think I'd be awfully careful about that. I suppose it's possible that somebody would actually hit a hog that wandered onto the road accidentally, (make your blind hog finding an acorn joke here), but most roadkill generally won't be pork.

The Rockcast is gonna be high. Probably in the 10 dollar range per square foot, without freight (just a guess-timate though). The Dutch Quality product is only about 6 a square foot, but it is usually a 500 sq. ft. order minimum. I have been trying to get this stuff stocked, but being the only Tech grad in my office, I have had no luck.

Did a little extra research for you. Backyard Pizza is not owned and/or managed by one of Marco's cousins. It is owned and/or managed by a man by the name of Polo. Word on the street is that Marco has never been able to locate this Polo character though.

HOW THE HELL DID WE LET ONE OF OUR PLAYERS' BROTHER PLAY FOR SOMEONE ELSE?

This...seriously, WTF went wrong with recruiting there. Royal was actually liked too.

I would never, ever eat barbeque in West Virginia. Ever. Never.

Actually, when looking for something to eat in West Virginia, I recommend vending machines. That way you know it was packaged and sealed in a factory in another state and not handled by the cousins.

Thank you again for a well-written and well-researched article. The "triangle" looks like it is very difficult to defend against as long as LT makes the correct reads.

I realize LT made some errors during the ECU game, but those errors are decreasing as he becomes more comfortable in a system that was brand new to him just a few months ago. Fix the offensive line issues, and we'll see something really special this year.

Things that need to be succesful for us running the ball-our offensive line blocking, which you really can't take for granted with our offense.

And I'm stating this as fact: In the NFL, that play works every time. Literally every single time. Maybe not in college, but it does in the NFL. When a defense gets a goal line stand, I would say 90% of the time, the offense ran 2 unimaginative runs,a play action on third down (when it was predictable), and then another unimaginative run of 4th. If the offense had just ran a PA bootleg on first down, they'd be watching their defense play instead of listening to the boo-birds. (I've watched NFL for way longer than I have college so my expereince with what works and what doesn't is mostly predicated on the former. And yes, I'm aware VT plays college football, but that doesn't excuse us for making pussy play calls.)

Thanks! How much does the Rockcast replica cost roughly? Also I assume "fairly large" means commercial type of large and not like "I'm building a roughly 30 linear foot retaining wall in my backyard" kind of large?

Btw, I effing love the TKP community!

I work for a materials company in the area and a company called Rockcast, as mentioned by a commenter above, makes a good replica. Another company that makes a good replica (manufactured stone) is a company named Dutch Quality Stone. They are not allowed to call it Hokie Stone, so they named it Blacksburg Blend. Unfortunately, it is a non-stock item for them and it has to be ordered in fairly large quantities.

one could argue that if the uniforms actually looked good you could get more money for them...wouldn't that be even better-er?

I don't get how somebody could separate the coach from the players....they're in a symbiotic relationship...you have one because of and with the other. So, the best way to stop bama is to have them play our defense. Or LSU's.

"Uh oh, I'm about to give Virginia Tech a legitimate compliment. Better downplay them, quick!"
It gets so annoying...

Its always funny when we get these half compliments. Agree with the comment above about LSU likely giving up 300+ yards of offense to these guys.

Oh well. In Bud we trust.

Benedict just doesn't strike me as an OT, giving his mobility and build. But Grimes knows what he wants, and the OL overall seems to be improved.

But, I really hope the ECU game is the worst performance we'll see from the Line all year. They really need to bully around the opposing front seven, so we can assert a robust ground attack.
