If Foster's defense denies Western Carolina's pussy touchdowns
One thing we still don't know is whether "pussy touchdowns" is noun-noun or adjective-noun. Thus you could have also said "If Foster's defense denies Western Carolina pussy touchdowns." This just adds to the mystery...
I think some good points have been made on both sides of this argument here. Ill say it again, if the coaches thought Leal was a better option, he would be playing. These guys see both QBs every day in practice, theyve had numerous scrimmages and film to review, yet they stick with Logan. Logan has been, is, and will be the guy. Leal will be lucky to start next year (different topic entirely).
Think of all the things Logan has gone through. His first year starting he had one of the greatest RBs that VT has ever had and the two best WRs the Hokies have ever had. The running game opened up our passing game and the only reason our running game got going at all is because of D-Wilsons pure athletic talent; our O-line definitely didnt help him that much. Before we played our first game against Clemson that year I was telling everyone that they were going to make Logan beat them, they would basically throw everything they had at stopping Wilson and make Logan beat them. I thought they did that quite well. Logan played awfully against them and we lost. Same story a couple months later in Charlotte, though that was more on our defense IMO.
He then went into his second year and lost his RB. And sorry, but our running game situation was just horrible last year. Logan had to do it all himself, and he did the best he could given what he had. But when you have an OC who has no idea what hes trying to accomplish youre already behind. Our lack of talent on the field made it even worse. Everyone knew what we wanted to do. We only beat teams that were less athletic than us last year and by that I mean we beat anyone that Logan could run over like a grape. We couldnt beat anyone else simply because our offensive game planning was awful.
This year against Bama, Logan was running a brand new offense for the first time in a game. He was going up against the best defense hes seen and yet again, with injuries all around, had very little talent to work with considering who we were up against. His receivers let him down numerous times.
The point of all this is, that Logan is not the type of guy that can do it alone. Hes not Tyrod, he needs his O-Line to block so he can have time to find a receiver, he cant just slip away from 2 or 3 guys and then run for twenty yards. He needs a running game to keep defenses honest and allow receivers to come open down field on play action. He needs an offensive game plan that keeps the other team guessing. And guess what, pretty much every QB needs these things.
He didnt have the running game or game planning last year. The year before our O-line could not block well enough to keep Wilson effective against Clemson or to give LT enough time to find the open guy.
The only reason I could give Leal any sort of nod over Logan is his better mobility. In a broken play he is more likely to make something out of nothing. But the goal isnt to run broken plays, its to execute an offensive game plan and Logan is far better at that than Leal.
If the fans stay for all the game and don't leave at halftime...... ESPECIALLY IF ITS RAINING DAMNIT!!! *looks at JMU*
Saturday's game against WCU will be a success if... there is a dog on an underwater treadmill during the Invent the Future commercial.
Got you covered.
1. If Foster's defense denies Western Carolina's pussy touchdowns.
2. I finally defeat The Kraken

Still think he looks like Robin Williams.
1. WR's catch the ball
2. Defense continues success
3. Kyshoen returns punts
4. The Chicken Tender Shuffle comes back better than ever.
Could you imagine getting excited/thinking you have an offer to a BCS school in 8th grade? You start following the team, become a huge fan, and then, more than likely, don't get the offer... That's just brutal. And the kids are way too young to know when someone's blowing smoke up their ass. The whole process is pretty disgusting.
Pretty much what everybody else has said:
*Win the game
*Nasty, lights out D
*Continued improvement in the running game
*Improvement on the O-Line, and with the WRs and QB
Edit: Forgot one thing - an animal, preferably a horse, on a treadmill during our commercial
Ooh no! Finger slipped sorry for down vote. wish there was an undo for that.
That said, I remember people calling for wild turkey formation with BOOOONE! all game long that year
The stat line that you seem to be missing is that Logan Thomas led the Hokies in rushing last year. That's a HUGE problem.
LT's drop off last year is not all on him. Hokies could not get a run game going at all, and the offensive line couldn't pass protect. Receivers last year were a problem as well. Cory Fuller, the track star, was our best option. Knowles was still young, "Veteran" Marcus Davis half assed it, and "Veteran" Dyrell Roberts did as well.
Not to mention...Stinespring, Newsome, and O'Cain were still happening.
I don't think a shutout shows success this week. We will (hopefully) have the scrubs of the scrubs in late into this one. We will likely give up at least a late field goal. But I definitely think the starters, and really even the second string, should be able to keep a big goose egg on the board.

BOOM! Couldn't agree more.
I would assume this kid must be one impressive looking 8th grader. He may be a bust, but he could also become a huge 5-star prospect. Now, when the SEC schools come knocking on his door, London at least has some leverage to say "Hey, we wanted you years before these guys." It looks pretty desperate and reeks of inferiority to me.
I would almost be willing to put money on it that this kids head gets so big from being recruiting so young that he loses his work ethic and humbleness and just falls flat on his face by his Junior year in high school.
Rumor?

who remembers when that solar house was on dietrick lawn. Remember taking the drunk bus back and being mystified by its changing colors as i stumbled back to WAJ past it.
Yes, all around!
Moorehead's response was also, "I need quarterbacks," to which Frank replied, "I know." I think the exchange indicates that there was so much work going on for the QB's with drills and mechanics and such that there was little time spent developing on-field chemistry. I think that's also a product of Loeffler having to rebuild our QB's, starting with Logan. Hopefully with some of the mechanics down, these guys can get some reps with one another rather than just machines pitching balls.
A.) Beamerball. Actual. fucking. Beamerball.
B.) O-line come together and road grade the Kitties.
C.) CATCH THE FUCKING BALL, WRs.
D.) Play nasty up front on D.
E.) Pitch the shutout.
I want to see things carry over from Bama. If we did it well last week, we should dominate this week. So I hope to see domination on defense, on the O-Line, and in the running game. Any let down in those areas would be pretty disappointing to me.
I also want to see us improve on the things we did poorly. I want us to have a solid game on special teams, have some good kick returns and defend our kicks much better. Obviously I want to see our receivers catch the ball and Logan to give them good passes to catch. These things will just help morale and confidence as we move forward.
I mentioned this yesterday, but mainly what I want to see is a passionate, pumped up, football team. Joe mentioned the.I cant even say it but you know what game Im referring toto start this post and that was a prime example of not coming to play. I want to see these guys jumping around on the field, giving high fives and acting like this game is the most important game of the season. We have such a bad recent history of playing to the level of our opponent, and nothing would be more disappointing to me than seeing WCU match our intensity and be in the game past the first quarter.
I hope the coaches really challenged these guys this week. Obviously the goal is to win the game, but thats just not enough in a game like this. If I were coaching I would tell the players that I expect them to be up by 4+ scores going into halftime, and if theyre not then they didnt play as well as they could have. We should be going into the game this week with the mentality that they shouldnt even be on the same field as us and that anything other than a pure, unadulterated beat down is not acceptable.
Success is defined as (in order from most probable to least probable):
- A win
- Less than 200 overall yards for WCU
- Trey Edmunds runs for 100 yards
- Logan is Sacked 0 times
- No offensive turnovers
- No WCU Special teams touchdowns
- A shutout
- Logan has a completion percentage > 60%
- 1 drop or less per receiver
- Less than 10 paper airplanes thrown (I know 10 is entirely too many, but we have to take baby steps)
