Realistically, I agree with you, but I think that there's no question that (as long as he stays around) Bud is going to be the heart of the team. It's not hard to argue that he's just as much a reason for VT's success as Beamer.
I honestly don't know if Bud will be HC, but I don't even know if he really wants it. I think Bud is the kind of guy that loves defense, loves teaching young men to play hard-nosed football, and being a HC requires too much in the way of politics, schmoozing, etc. I doubt he'd like that at all. I hope that he is at least offered the position; it's his to decline. If he legitimately doesn't want it, then move on to the next candidate. We owe Bud at least that much respect.

Although I agree with you that Bud Foster is deserving of the next VTHC job, I don't think that's going to happen. I believe that Shane Beamer is in position to take over the HC duties when Daddy leaves. I would love to see Bud Foster be our HC just as much as (if not more than) the next guy but realistically I don't think that will happen :(

Beamer's coaching career may be winding down, but what they fail to realize is that the heir apparent is Bud Foster, and that should just be flat-out terrifying for everyone not in Maroon and Orange.

Downvote me if you want: But was Logan's performance last year not some of the worst quarterback play you guys have ever seen? It was for me. Countless overthrown balls, terrible reads, bad decision making, handing it off at the wrong time and keeping it at the wrong time, terrible mechanics, etc. It was disgusting. Then he sucked in the spring game. Then he sucked against bama. Granted, the receivers didn't help him out at all but I rewatched the game a few times and no matter how we try to justify it, he sucked against bama too.
I'm not going to chant for Leal but I completely understand why the fan base is against him right now. Then he went and acted like nothing happened after the game. Like it was okay for our offense to be absent when our defense was the best unit on the field. I'm not going to use the bama game as a reason to bench him because that's the best defense he's ever played and the best defense we'll play this year. But to say fans complaints are unwarranted is kind of naive.
We all claim to be such knowledgeable football fans - If Logan was loluva's quarterback playing the way he has been then we would be all over the site criticizing the shit out of him, be real.
