Correct.
He's a good counsel kid right? Hopefully Kendall has been in his ear.
I freaking LOVED that helmet. Nothing could be worse than the ones we wore against UVA/BC
Let's hope he chooses the Hokies.
It's a slippery slope from a war memorial helmet, to a torgersen helmet, to a math empo helmet. The 2015 uni's will just be a campus map.
Wang needs to stay out of the backfield. I see him getting pushed into backfield way to much for me to give him an edge over any other lineman. Interesting thoughts and read though. Thank you for sharing.
Jesse Aniebonam is announcing his decision tonight. Extremely heavy UMD lean but Hokies are in the top five.
One of my roommates and I bought Orange Effect shirts the day of the game and immediately put them on when we got home and started tailgating. Since we hadn't washed them the orange ended up bleeding onto our undershirts and jeans after getting soaked at the game. My dad even saw me on TV when they panned to the crowd at one point during the game.

Don't forget Stinespring vs.Loefller
The first score Sam Rogers gets this season, there will be a small group of Hokie fans in the stadium and abroad smiling thinking of pussy touchdowns.
Excellent.
I can't wait.
As far as clipping goes, I don't think they teach their smaller athletes to illegally clip defender. I think that it's just a statistically inevitability that it'll happen more frequently when you ask your players to do it on basically every play.
It's a pretty simple rule. Don't cut block from outside the tackle box back towards the center of the field and don't cut block people from behind in any situation. The fact that these guys keep doing it is an indication that CPJ is teaching them to do it and instructing them to do it.
Here's a perfect example of illegal outside-in cut block from the 2009 game. At 2:53 watch #24 come outside-in and cut block Kam Chancellor to spring Nesbitt for a long run. This same gain could have been realized if Dwyer had blocked Chancellor straight up and #24 and straight up blocked the guy that Dwyer ends up screening out of the play.

At 3:13 in the same video, you see a perfectly legal crack back where the WR comes in and blocks Chancellor high instead of illegally cut blocking him outside-in. Result? Another big gain (+TD) for Nesbitt. No illegal blocking needed.
The point is that CPJ teaches his players to play dirty and to break the rules and execute dangerous blocks when they don't have to in order to get in the head of defenders and make them hesitant - and/or injure key defenders to get them off the field.
If you can't win by playing within the rules you're a failure. If you break the rules in a way that causes repeated injuries to 18-22 year olds, putting their careers at risk, you're an asshole. Fuck Paul Johnson
I agree with that nick name.
Yep, I definitely almost got pneumonia after that one. In addition, my usual football game intensity + shouting against a hurricane = no voice for an extra few days. I was in the South that night, right near field level, so the wind and rain were in our faces the entire night. It was epic.
i agree with all of them cept i think the 09 team had much more depth
Wow, even my gutter-dwelling-thats-what-she-said mind found anything wrong with that statement. Now I can't unsee it.
I agree. Push, at most.
3.) Photo Booth Beamer
No way Fuller, Fascyon, & Fuller (New Law Firm?) are better than Roc, Virgil, & Hosley. Two of them haven't even played a down yet and while those three will probably all end up in the league, and this point, they are not better
What killed us in the game against Bama in '09 were mistakes on Special Teams. Yes, the saving grace that got things rolling was the long Kick Return for a TD to flip the game from 6-0 to 6-7 but there were two botched catches deep in our territory that Bama capitalized on. Ryan Williams was playing in his first game I believe, much like Edmunds will be so I think that should be considered a push.

Roc Carmichael / Stephan Virgil / Jayron Hosley vs Kendall / Brandon Facyson / Kyle Fuller: Roc, Virgil and Hosley were all studs, all had 6+ int seasons, and for this game only Hosley wasnt experienced yet. Kendall & Facyson may be very talented, but we've never seen them in a game situation. Everyones excited about Facyson for his recovery speed after missing his coverage, but what about when he faces a talented and experienced WR who he cant recover against? And as much as I love Kyle Fuller, he's probably better suited as a saftey at the next level and doesnt create a lot of turnovers.
Tyrod Taylor vs Logan Thomas: Logan might still have a higher ceiling athletic ceiling, but Tyrod was by far the better college QB. Logan put up better passing yards, but also had 150-200 more attempts per year. Tyrods YPA was better, Tyrod made fewer mistakes and gave a chance on every play to be a huge gain. Logan might be a more consistent runner, but hes not going to win a big game with his feet. Besides, most damning of all, Tyrod had to work with Stinespring as sole OC. And while Logan had to deal with OCain and OCainspring, both were an upgrade of Stiney alone.
There's a lot of if's in there....
- At the QB position, Tyrod may not have been productive, but he didn't throw any pics. If we want to beat bama we must win the turnover battle. I'm hopeful, but far from convinced that Logan can avoid throwing an int.
- The OL is a toss up IMO, depends on how well our guys take to the new offense.
- Facyson/Fuller/Fuller are an unproven unit (with the exception of Kyle). We have nothing to go off of except practice tape. Hopefully they're as good as advertised and can avoid freshman mistakes.
- Bonner may be better in coverage than Kam, but he can't hit the way Kam could, and might be a liability if he has to make an open field tackle.
I checked out the stats from our last game against Alabama, they were much worse than I remember, especially given how close I remember it being (through the first 3 quarters at least). We had 155 yards of total offense all day! Only 64 yards rushing with Ryan Williams on our team!

Getting Aniebonam would be even more shocking than Brady Taylor and Greg Stoman in my opinion. Being able to secure those commitments gives me some hope in any recruiting battle, but this one is a long shot.
