Barely over.
Well Louisville's super weak schedule has people inflating their ranking because people would rather look correct in the end then actually rank teams they think is the best... It's just a perfect storm of annoying voter habits all rolled into one team...
I like the angle from the back of the endzone better myself.
All hail the Phreak! Love the Legends content. So many of the stars were just plain fast. They were outrunning everyone on the field.
Here's the tweet from ESPN that prompted the request
Have your own version of The Catch? Put it on a digital @Gatorade bottle. http://t.co/hYguVQVW7M pic.twitter.com/js2W0VoIxm— ESPN (@espn) August 23, 2013
and here is the picture I was thinking of - it was the highest res I could get ....

It seems that voters are a bit higher on L'ville this year than they were on WVU last year.
WVU seemed to shoot up the rankings after beating Texas 48-45 (moved up to #5), which came after beating Baylor 70-63. It appears that the voters were so enamored with WVU putting up the points against all these teams (including Marshall and JMU in the first two weeks)... that they neglected the fact that this same school allowed BAYLOR to reach the end zone 9 times in 60 minutes.
Offense doesn't only sell tickets... it also garners poll votes, apparently.
The interesting thing I noticed about Tyrod is that he was always a student of the game. Every year he got better, but it was never leaps and bounds better. I figured when he got to the NFL it would probably take 3-5 years for him to really get the full idea of the game and the speed before he got a real shot at starting. Hope to see him soon--would love to see him get a shot.
It is a good move for the team (both player and coaches). He is getting involved early enough that should he be needed this year he could be effective. Not perfect but good enough. If he develops quickly he may get in the rotation. If he is scout for the 1s & 2s on D he should get some quality reps in practice.
"And while jokingly, Falcco said he hopes Taylor keeps his reps on the field to a minimum, he is confident in Taylors ability to lead the Ravens offense if needed."
Why is Shane Falcco evaluating Tyrod? I don't think anyone cares about what he has to say after his meltdown in the Sugar Bowl.

that wouldnt be so bad. we need somebody up there in bristol with a little knowledge and respect for our program. i get tired of nothing but $ec and big 10/14 homers talking about our school and conference on the mothership.
If you want a Hokies example look at Kam Chancellor. He played QB in HS and now is a beast at safety. Imagine if he decided he was only going to play QB in college. He probably would not have played a snap in DI.
At the risk of a copyright lawsuit, done.
No downvotes for sound advice.
ODU is in a BCS conference (CUSA), just not a AQ conference. The only school in the BCS but not in a BCS conference is Notre Dame.
Quick before we know it, ESPN is gonna scoop him up for an analyst or color commentator position.
The recent helmet debacles certainly are bad. But there's a theme that I am noticing here. It started with the video that Logan did for WSLS about move-in, then the story about the team visiting the Pylons. It seems to me that Beamer has a theme for this year, revolving around the 8 principles of the VT community and how the team must be a reflection of those principles. It reminds them of tradition, both in terms of the University and the football team, and makes them work harder to uphold it and be good representatives of the school. A War Memorial helmet, if designed properly (and given the recent nonsense maybe that's a big if), could be a very cool addition to the theme of the season.
If that's the case, why do they always pick the most garish combinations?
White helmet goes with white jersey, white pants.
Also goes with white jersey, maroon pants.
Maroon helmet goes with maroon pants and maroon jersey and maroon jersey white pants.
Orange helmet goes with orange jersey and white pants. But never ever does it go with orange pants orange jerseys.
That's it. I would like to wear orange pants and white jerseys to UVA and show them who really rocks those colors.
Maroon helmet, of course.
Where did you get the practice video of Sam Rogers? (oh wait wrong thread)
Disagree (respectfully.) I think players liking them is important for sure. But fans support the team and contribute a lot of money to the athletic program. In turn, we expect the team to represent our school well (both in terms of their play but also the image they project.) If our constant helmet shenanigans make us look silly and the fans don't like that, I think that has to come into consideration a bit.
It is also a key component of safety. Understanding acceptable risks and potential consequences are keys to avoiding catastrophy. Managing risk is about making informed decisions.
"From day 1, hes been on a mission," Beamer said of Rogers, a former Hanover High School star. "Some walk-ons come in and they want to make the travel squad or they want to eventually play on special teams by their second year. Hes been on a mission to start from day 1 and wasnt going to be denied."

I am sure there are pleanty of NFL teams that would take him in a heartbeat. The probelm is, the Ravens aren't going to trade him because he's a great insurance policy to have behind Flacco.
When his contract ends he'll get his shot. Unfortunately, that's not until 2015.
Probably not. I had a shitty day at work that day so by the time I looked it up I had double vision.
We are #1's biggest trap game according to BR.
