I'm surprised we've never been able to pull Tennessee in. They don't have a natural OOC rival like UGA, USC or UF do.
And PSU has been rumored for a while.
Even though we got crushed by them last time, a return trip to LSU would be my #1 choice. That was the most fun I've ever had at a football game (ok, mostly the tailgate, not so much the game).
Penn State and South Carolina would be my other top choices.
Latest update on the football video board. A few more panels to go and the left speaker area. #hokies pic.twitter.com/AzeU63Kmt0— Damian Salas (@vthokie) August 8, 2013

" If boosters are ponying up dough, a market exists for player's services"
*Cough*MIAMI*Cough* Man, I should get rid of thos cold.
Top 3 choices would be UGA, Tennessee, or Penn State
If London is smart, he'll stop the clock with a few seconds left by using a timeout......I'll show myself out.
My guess is that he's going to Glennon the shit out of this and announce that it's Louisville.
I kinda bashed the TSL last time I talked about them because I was frustrated with their site set up. However their are somethings they do that I really appreciate. One of which is their interviews with players and recruits, like the one mentioned above. Also, Chris Coleman does a really good job breaking down the Tech Talk Live interviews and other media events so I don't have to worry about missing something. I don't think I will be giving up my subscription. wanted to give some good words for our fellow Hokies.
In '09 we parked in a big parking lot where Northside Drive NW meets Thurmond St NW. Next to an elementary school. It was very large and packed with both VT and Bama fans. Great place to mingle with the enemy, engage in friendly smack talk, and enjoy the southern belle scenery. It was mostly student tailgates with some alumni sprinkled throughout. It was a fantastic place to tailgate all day and was a short walk to the stadium.
I'm pretty sure it was pay when you get there and I think it was reasonably priced. We arrived around 8am and it was full by 10ish? Not sure if you can leave your car there. Also for those of you that like to avoid long port-a-potty lines there is big hill on one side of it with a bunch of bushes on top. That hill is also a great place to yell "LET'S GO!!" and wait for the reply from the Hokies below.
Disclaimer: Last time I was there was 2009, so things might have changed.
I was hoping that the "major conf foe" might be Penn State, but I just checked and their 2016-17 schedules are already full
I'm definitely going to this. It's just the easiest and probably cheapest solution.
It's just me and my lady friend going so to be provided with unlimited beer, food, music, and our own bathroom facilities is a pretty sweet gig. And of course I think the company is going to be pretty awesome as well. I'm almost as excited for this tailgate as I am the game.
The only question I have is if we are allowed to bring in our own drinking supplies. Reading Billdozer's post on drink choiced has me wanting to bring a nice bottle of whiskey to this thing.
While this is annoying, it opens up 2017 for ND to make the return trip to Blacksburg after VT plays there in 2016. I don't want to wait forever to see the Irish in Lane.
This sets up nicely for Erick to develop into a Gary Neal type. I'm okay with that.
my dream scenario is tennessee or another home and home or nuetral sight with aTm
Could do without Marshall too. Are they both AAC schools now or still Conf USA?
Nah, they are waiting for the next Sean Glennon.
OOC Opponent Power Rankings:
1. Literally anyone but ECU
2. UGA
3. Tennessee
4. Nebraska
5. Penn State
your suggestion was quite wonderful as a matter of fact
oh no wasnt referring to you, i was just talking about a couple times on here and other places where i have either gotten hate or seen other people getting it for their choice of beverage. your fine for not liking it. just dont like when people talk down on others for their choice of beverage. just because a person drinsk craft beers and top shelf liqours doesnt mean they should judge people who dont. thats my only point
Shoot, they might still be on a winning streak, although they play the Cards and Indians, which happen to be their only games for the rest of the season against a team with a winning record at the moment.
Isn't this like the fourth time this has happened with Wisconsin? I thought we were lined up to play them when Tyrod was Junior/Senior, then they pushed back for when Bucky would be Junior/Senior, then they push back again and again? Are they just trying to get us at a time when the next Grant Noel is our QB?
Here is the parking info from the CFA Kickoff website http://chick-fil-akickoffgame.com/FANCENTRAL/Parking/tabid/141/Default.aspx
It says that lots close 2 hours after the game, but I don't see if you can leave a vehicle overnight or not.
probably just carry over, first days of camp are always rough no matter what level you are at. im not seeing anything that hes being held out of drills or anything

I get the whole UVa hate thing, but let me ask you this:
-How great was it watching the FSU fans getting beat by UVa 2 years ago?
-How awesome was it watching the band wagon 'U' fans wipe their tears from loses to UVa 2 years in a row?
-Who didn't love how depressed USCw fans, players and coaches were when they almost didnt squeak out a win vs UVa in 2010?
Perhaps its just that I like UVAs soft perception from the outside world and how they are an agent of embarrassment to other teams who cant win convincingly against them. A majority of their current fans are smug fratty a-holes, a fact I used to rub in my sister's face (a UVA alum unfortunately). After the whole April 16 thing when we got time off though, I did spend a bit of it visiting my sister wearing my VT gear. And I will admit that at bars or parties the uva people I had no connection with were legitimately nice and concerned. Perhaps it was that experience that made me love watching our 38-0 bro game, but generally root for them otherwise.
That said, there is nothing I would like more than to watch da U go 0-12 every year. I wish GT would lose enough for Paul 'chop block' Johnson to get fired too.
