So that gives us Mich/Wisc in one year and Mich/WVU the next. That's great news, if our new goal is to start signing TWO major programs per year as our OOC.

2 Majors + ECU + Local Cupcake = as good as our schedule will ever get (because, you know, we signed ECU until 2045 for some stupid fudging reason)

I am suprised that Shuman is back at left tackle in any capacity. He looked very comfortable at left guard during the spring game, especially for someone who had one day of experience at the position. Benedict has been a right guard since coming to Virginia Tech, so his move to the left side suprised me a bit. It looks like Miller is going to be the guy at right guard, so someone is going to sit that is a pretty good lineman.

Center is a work in progress. Last season, snaps were a major issue, and the center is also leaned upon heavily for setting pass protections and communicating fronts. Farris has an experience edge over Wang at the position, while Wang has more general game experience. I know several folks have commented about how the center has to matchup against Alabama's nose tackles. In the running game, the center often has to chip the nose and get to the linebacker, while the guard on the back side of the play has to scoop the nose, so a premium has to be placed on quickness. I wish I could get down to Blacksburg on the 10th to see how these battles are playing out, but it will have to wait until the 17th for me.

I like that the Hoo players even acknowledge that it hasn't even been close as of late.

That clock is going to start looking like an coup de grace timer as this season goes on, as I see them losing a lot of games before then.

I know last time we played bama it was gay pride weekend in ATL. As we stood on the corner after the game waiting for a cab, a car full of gay guys stopped at the light blasting and singing Beyonce's 'all the single ladies' song. It was funny, weird, awkward, amusing, nasty, etc all at the same time.

His first game in some tournament is against Bayern Munich, which is now Malcolm Delaney's team. Saw Delaney tweet something about it awhile back and thought it was cool

I've got a group going. I'm not sure but I think Joe might be going. Makes it easy so I can just take the MARTA in to the game and not worry about parking or bringing tailgate stuff down for the weekend.

In my defense...have you seen their alphabet??!! I mean, seriously...it looks like Q'bert's dialog bubbles!!! One of the letters is an asterisk...and what's with the O with the line through it.

russian alphabet
qbert

Okay...if that doesn't work...I'm a product of the Virginia Public School System.

Is there anyone going to the VT alumni tailgate on gameday? I havent bought my ticket for it yet but I might later because the tickets are apparently being bumped up to $40 starting tomorrow

I don't mind. A big key is being able to produce...the Redskins hardly had an O-line to brag about, but with the zone blocking scheme, a decent passing game, and a solid running game, the O-line flaws were masked. The Hokies find themselves in a similar situation, so hopefully the same will pan out for them. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be good enough.

He is too humble not to say that. I bet once he learns the play book he jumps a couple of them and we see him on the field this year.

we have our whole vacation this summer planned around it. we have a house on lake norman, nc rented the week before the game. on friday we'll leave the kid with my parents in nc and drive to my wife's aunt and uncle's house (both vt alums) in roswell, ga. they said they would handle the pregame activities so idk exactly what's going on but there's an understanding that inebriation should be met by the time we're walking in the dome. we'll drive back sunday and pick the kid up on the way to va. monday will be spent recuperating. tuesday back to the grind.

But, unlike Curt Newsome, I do not expect Jeff Grimes to rotate his offensive lineman unless injury or poor performance forces his hand on gameday.

Hopefully he'll differentiate himself in a lot of ways from CN

Don't forget that the Braves have a home series that weekend as well. And judging by their current streak and performance, holiday weekend games should gather a nice crowd.

Haha oh jeez, something tells me that the dragoncon folks won't spend too much time DT though. The NASCAR fans on the other hand...

I will not be making the trek to Atlanta (every time I go to an away/neutral game, the Hokies lose in heartbreaking fashion so I am going to remove myself and see how things go. See list below). Instead, I will be arriving at Blackfinn in Charlotte early to get things going. Come give me a spirited high five and a LETS GOOOO if you're around

ChicFilA Bowl - Glennon loss to UGA
Orange Bowl - Loss to Kansas
BofA Neutral - Glennon loss to ECU
FedEx - Loss to Boise
ACCCG - WIN vs. FSU (Tyrod & Danny Coale couldnt be beat that night...still gives me chills)
ACCCG - Loss to Klempson
FedEx - Loss to Cincy

Don't forget, these are players voting. They are probably considering how a coach treats players when voting. I think it goes a long way that Peterson has stayed a BSU and turned down other jobs (unlike Kiffin, one of the other most hated coaches).

yup dragoncon and the nascar race. atl's gonna be packed

Just FYI to everyone going to the game. #beatbama weekend is the same as DragonCON so be prepared for TONS of people downtown and TONS of...umm, interesting people...
