I have to tell you guys, it's great to hear people speak intelligently on topics (even as mundane as concrete aggregate) outside of football-centric news on the site. I hope after all you flunkies "grajuminate" that we'll continue to have great conversations/posts here and that the site will cultivate (or "coach 'em up") a two-deep to speak intelligently on topics long after you guys are forced to leave the 'Burg and go be productive and model citizens, ahem...
The football analysis is top-notch and mating it with some whimsy and intelligent conversation makes this site in a true class of college football blog/fan-sites. Soooo much invigorating in comparison to the mouth-breathing knuckle-dragging you tend to make the mistake of reading when browsing other sites -pick one, ANY one...
Keep this up, ladies and gentlemen -but don't forget to add a dash sophomoric and toilet humor here and there.
Thanks! I must have missed that one on my last trip through that list...
I hope we win something significant so Korny can call Wilbon out on his Hokie hatred. Beyond our bass fishing national championship, that is.
After they played it against BC in the Matty Rain game, I now cringe when it happens during the game.
i was looking at auburn's offensive numbers last night, a lot of sacks in some of those games. take away the gimmee out of conference games and their rushing totals were pretty poo as well. i know there's more to football than stats and i know auburn was a dumpster fire last year, but the numbers reminded me a lot of ocainspring/newsome type production.
The pouring rain made it that much better too!
when they played it during the 07 BC game, up to that point, that was the craziest I've seen LANE
never give the four letter the benefit of the doubt when it comes to journalistic integrity. remember the "e" stand for entertainment. that's the business they're in. pti is ok (even though wilbon is a card carrying hokie hater) other than that, it's just live games i'll watch
Those rebar cages are very long. They wouldn't use anything like that for lamp posts. Could they be putting multiple cages into the bigger holes for the scoreboard bases?
No, I've heard them play it mid-game before. They played it after David Wilson took the kick back against GT
I don't like the wood being darker on part of the court than the rest personally.
ah.. man, I don't remember any of those. I guess because this was at such a pivotal point on a time-out and we won seconds later, and those "people are losing their minds" I really only remember it in the Miami game.
They have played it a couple times during opportune moments in big games. 2010 GT after Wilson ran it back, this Miami game, 2007 BC right before Matty Ice led that damned drive (sadness), and a couple others I can't recall right now.
I too would like to commend whoever started it.
From Hansen's highlights, I'm excited. He gets off the line really quick, seems to have great awareness of where the play is, uses his hands a ton to shed blockers, and delivers a damn good hit. It should be interesting to see how he adjusts to Foster's gap scheme from what looked like a qb contain/pure pass rusher type of role.
I've always wanted to know who the person was that decided to play it at that time. I think it's the only time it has ever been played during a game, right? Did they ask permission or just say "damned the consequences" and pushed play? Have they been waiting for the most opportune time or did it just come to them at that moment?
Who was that genius? I would like to give him a turkey leg.... or twenty.
His twitter handle is @WadeThor95
I approve of this.
Upvote for humility. "Prost", good sir.
Good point. I'm ashamed.
KALVIN CLINE, BILLY RAY MITCHELL AND REMINGTON HENSHAW:
FORM A BAND OR GTFO
at least we got the gator bowl back
they usually are. the demand is way down this year.
The thing about Cowherd is he has opinions, and never listens to others, or lets others talk. They are always wrong, and never stand a chance to sway him one bit. Every once in awhile you agree with him (UVA rant, Met's rant, etc.) and then he is awesome. But he also makes arguments, that you could disagree with it makes you absolutely hate him.
It's disappointing in the context of what it could have been. This was the year, the year with the top 10 class and the #1 best player in the country and the year we finally put UVA away.
Instead, we will end up with a class on par with most of our other classes. Which, in itself, is obviously not a disappointment.

If only Holland Fisher would actually be in Blacksburg this season
