Hasn't UVA been put away for awhile now?
Had no idea Phoebus went down to D4. Feel bad for the Bay Rivers District.. not going to be much chance for most all of those teams!
Kenny would use ESPN recruiting...
Everyone I knew thought Hendricks was a D!ck...myself included. However, I took dynamics during the summer and my computer completely died and he just up and lent me one of his for the whole summer. Turns out he's a pretty cool dude if you get to know him.
Settle is a true 3-4 DE who can be dominant at the position. That is a rarity. Unless UVA bought him a Lamborghini and a couple of houses, I'd bet that the kid will end up at Alabama. Too perfect a fit for Nick Saban to let Mike London to beat him out. And, before you say Andrew Brown, understand that Brown isn't a great fit for a 3-4 and Settle is.
I think it's far more important for the Rover to have man coverage skills than the FS, who sits back in cover-1 or cover-3 more frequently than they pick up a slot or TE.
Fisher is a FS or Whip all the way. I get the vibe that Reavis fits more of the Rover spot, but that may just be because I expect Fisher to lock down FS. Also I expect McMillian to be a Rover too, after being unable to beat out Hodges and Ford at QB.
Formation affects things on a play by play basis, but generally my take on how things break down for coverage skills goes something like this:
importance of man coverage skills:
1) BC
2) ROV
3) FC
4) WHIP
5) FS
importance of zone coverage skills:
1) FS
2) FC
3) WHIP
4) ROV
5) BC
Darvin Taylor has definitely been offered.
It makes sense, but it is a must that we at least pull from the pipeline.Iam sure CJ is all on Taylor.
247sports shows that we have offered both. ESPN's recruiting information is often out of date, at least the free stuff. I've never paid for their Insider content, so I don't know what else might be out there.
Espn is not showing a offer from tech, but shows that we have offered everybody else that is on the espn top 300 for 2015 from the state of Virginia.
dat block.
Well hopefully Shane's vow "We are not going to back down from anybody" will be actions, not just words.
Once heard Colin C state that (paraphrasing) his job is not to be a great journalist, but rather to be an entertainer. Fits well with ESPN's (and parent company's) MO. So take it all with a spoonful of salt.
I had Dynamics with Hendricks. Good guy. Went into the final with a D, got 100 on it and ended up with a B-. Boom.
Good for him. Her name is Mei-Ling Lam for anyone who wants to do their own research.
My whole family inherited Notre Dame fandom, and my cousin got married on the day of the Stanford game last season. After the toasts, the groom took the mic and announced that he had confirmed that Notre Dame had won...
...which means he was checking his smartphone as he and his wife were being toasted by the MOH/BM.
Powers of 2. Fun times. Next you'll be joking about the reason computer scientists think Halloween and Christmas are the same thing.
Exactly! They're even both Tech students! One's a recent grad, the other a rising senior. They should know better. The entire wedding party did have to sell their tickets though. Lots of smartphones will be checked during that ceremony.
Admittedly, my post was more of a "goes without saying" although it is surprising to hear that some or perhaps most of you fools are actually "growed-up" -well, in terms of the date on your driver's license. As a 39-year-old stuck in Atlanta, inundated with SEC (and living with an Auburn gal) and gawd-forbid putting up with GT nonsense, hitting this site once in a while whilst feigning work is a welcome refuge back to a wonderful time and place in life.
Hopefully this site will continue to attract and grow a knowledgeable, rabid and supportive fan base as well as offer insightful, energizing (and yes, toilet-based humor every now-and-then) and thoughtful musings on a variety of topics centered around Hokie Nation, for many years to come.
Alright, enough with the group hug -somewhere some drunk UVA sorority girl is about to make a bad decision that will end up on the int'rnets... let's all sit back and relish the fun-making.
Wow, college football really is going in a simplified direction these days.... The College Football Playoff, "College Football 15"...
Grimes is a better coach than Newsome? Lemme go grab my shocked face.
Word! ...oh...and we actually win games! Novel concept!
I miss the Poulan Weed-Eater Independence Bowl. Which is now known as the AdvoCare V100 Bowl...and let's be honest...that's a name that really rolls off the tongue.
I honestly don't understand how we can't outrecruit UVA (and other schools with lesser gameday atmospheres) by showing this clip and some of our entrances (i.e. Clemson 2006). I mean seriously, you can't find fans getting this loud and into the game at almost any other stadium in the entire country, and you're going to choose to play in front of UVA? I can't fathom that.

Bay Rivers whaddup!
