I think there is a misconception when it comes to VT RBs. While VT has had some great college RBs, VT has not had 1 good NFL running back. In fact, I'm sure Warrick Dunn has more NFL rushing yards than all VT RBs combined. VT RBs have had some bad luck like KJ and Ru, but overall good VT RBs have not translated into NFL-caliber back. However, it appears DW is on the fast-track to becoming an elite RB. It will be sweet if Wilson can supplant the hated Tiki Barber in the Giant's record books.
An officer in the Blacksburg police department confirmed the vending machine story for me back in '96. He didn't say how many vending machines though (I assumed it was 1.)
Realistically optimistic I'd consider the Peach Bowl a wildly successful season and it would be a great trip for Atlanta on New Years Eve to tie together the beginning and end of the season showcasing improvement against a SEC opponent.
Have you seen sites that are actually taking bets yet? All I've been able to find are sites displaying the current line.
Cornwell has an offer from Alabama among a slew of other SEC schools. Anyone think he even has a chance to pull it off?
There are 3 non-BCS games after January 1. One is the Cotton Bowl, which isn't happening. The other two are the ultra-prestigious GoDaddy.com Bowl and the other is the BBVA Compass Bowl. No thanks.
If anyone is going to put a bet on the game, might wanna do it in a hurry. The line has fallen from 24 to 22 1/2 now. Which anyone who gambles knows that points can kick your ass at the end when a team knees the ball instead of kicking a field goal up big on 4th down. Also, the TCU vs LSU game is - 6 1/2 for LSU. Which means a TD wins. Also, FSU is - 8 1/2 point against Pitt. A parlay would be smart here. Put down 50 dollars on VT, LSU, and FSU and the payout would be well over a grand. JUST A TIP! lol before the season gets closer and the juiced lines shrink!
If I remember correctly, Chick-Fil-A will be Jan 1st or later in the New Format, but we won't be tied to them contractually in years that they aren't in the playoff rotation.
As CSL said, his first priority is to protect the football:
I believe before he started at Auburn he said something about his job being to protect the Defense.
Loeffler is still working.
Great talk with Leoffler! #VT— DC5 (@DavidCornwell5) May 6, 2013
Aaron McFarling had a fun read on the ACC network programming

The nastiest thing I've ever seen a RB do. I still remember the first time I saw this play, my jaw almost came unhinged.
Pretty sad that we only have one bowl game after New Year's Eve. We gotta get another Jan 1st game ACC...
If we don't turn over the ball and give Bama a short field on several possessions, we have a chance. Our defense will be key, and the offense must not make costly mistakes. The offense must also keep the defense from getting winded too soon. This game will be brutal, but if we execute we have a chance.
#goacc
Took them long enough to even consider a network.
Yea, why isn't the national title game listed? After we #BeatBama we'll be well on our way.
Carnies. Circus folk. Nomads, you know. Smell like cabbage. Small hands.
I have heard similar things from people close to him in HS....unless attitude and work ethic have changed drastically, then I agree
From the rest of his tweets after the offer, it looks like he's still planning on coming to Tech.
I knew this would happen. bummer, I hope he comes to VT.
Warrick Dunn and Greg Jones were both beast mode tailbacks.
And, of course, Darnell Jefferson. #ThunderRight #ClosingTimeBaby
Bobby Bowden, running back to his boat.
