I would probably lean towards Gray, but Wiles has been on the staff/in coaching longer and both cooridinate part of the D. (Wiles cooridinates Run D, Gray Passsing).

Move Conte to LG and we're done. That' our five best and it's not that close. I think we have a very solid second group with Farris, Wang, McLaughlin, Arkema, Taraschke. We've got good about 12 capable guys, I like Grimes theory of just throwing them all out there and picking the best 5.

Keep in mind, uva players are fired up when they face each other too.

The only way I see the next head coach coming from outside the program is if Foster isn't given the job.

I think Foster is the run-away favorite for the position. Only way an outside candidate beats him for the job is if the administration doesn't want to give it to Foster for some reason.

I've been saying from Holmes' first snap, Holmes has enough talent to be successful in the ACC. He just needs some help.

Holmes had the same YPC as JC Coleman, if you take away JC's two longest runs. Both of which came against Duke, the worst YPC team Tech face all year. Holmes only got 2 carries against that team, JC got 13. That's why the stats look as one sided as they do.

Holmes is a perfect fit for the zone running that Grimes/Loeffler want to implement. Edmunds may prove too talented to not start, I don't know, haven't seen enough of him yet. I do know that Holmes will get the job done if given half a chance by the Oline though.

Alright, thanks! I didn't know how that would work. I hope someone on here watches out for that to notify everyone. I've been to the Georgia Dome many times, I don't care where the seats are! There isn't a nosebleed seat in that stadium.

I agree completely about Shane maybe not being ready in those aspects but I was just pointing out that a X and Os guy is not completely necessary. And I agree that if his last name was not Beamer he would not be in the discussion as a potential replacement. Just curious but how much you guys think that the next head coach will come from outside the current staff? I'm saying 5%?

Public sale should start within a month or so I would imagine at which point you can just order them yourself and they will probably be mailed to you just like bowl tickets. They just may be around $60.

I have a ticket question again. It looks like I am not going to be able to get a friend to pick up student tickets. I still really want to go and I am willing to pay around $100 for a ticket, give or take. Do you think closer to time they will be cheaper? My 2 friends and I just refuse to pay $279 per ticket...

If I recall, the price before insurance was in the 32k range. And I was fortunate enough to have a surgeon that was the orthopedic of multiple US World Cup teams, so that may have been why. And the 16k number included rehab as well, which mr exum doesn't have to cover

With all of the discussion of the O-line so far this offseason, I've heard relatively little about our pass blocking ability. Any read on how good we'll be (or how good individual players will be) for pass blocking?

If anyone else is really hungry for football analysis, maybe someone (more knowledgeable than me) could make a chart of each player's relative abilities. Maybe it could show each person's best position, then 2nd best position, their run block ability, backside ability, pass block ability, maybe something about their experience/polish? And maybe some stats (height, weight, lifting ability)...? Any other ideas?

If that's ridiculous to ask, sorry! I know it's a big wish list, I think it would be cool to discuss. Plus, I'm just starving for football stats this time of year...

It is worth noting that Nick Acree is working with the third stringers, along with Parker Osterloh.

Some other notes watching film
1) It seems like every video clip posted by Hokiesports or Beamerball.com of Logan Thomas throwing shows him throwing to Josh Stanford. Perhaps he is now the "safety blanket" guy that Fuller was last year?

2) Brandon Faycson is getting some reps with the ones.

3) Hokies are going to be better running to Mark Shuman. I saw several excellent blocks by Shuman at the point of attack, but he struggles a bit blocking on the backside. He looks really good in pass blocking.

Haha yeah, Dr. Seigal did mine (VT team doctor) and it was like 36k without insurance and I was told that was expensive compared to others. I would hope your insurance covered more than half.

Great Bitter read:

Gibson welcomes the new approach.

“It’s a fresh start. I love the intensity that we have now,” he said. “This is the first time that I felt real competition, like we’re really getting after it. I love it. [Grimes] is definitely a no-nonsense guy. That’s, I feel, the best way to go about it. I feel like it’s strictly business out there. And we’re handling it.”

Not that we didn't know but not having Newsome play favorites seems to have the OL ready to battle out there. I love these new coaches more every time I read about them.

Can anybody tell who had that beautiful block on the Jarrett PR TD vs Pitt?

Was it RVD?
