Going into last season, I would've agreed with you. But now I just don't think he has the experience needed to run an entire program.
While agree with #1 and #3, I must say I have no desire to see Shane take over as head coach in the near future. His resume's just not there... He's helped our recruiting tremendously and brought a young spark to the team, but he hasn't produced much as a position coach. He needs significantly more experience IMHO before even being considered for a head coaching roll.

My 2 cents (and worth every penny)...We need to do away with most of these stupid events. Military appreciation is fine (but make it a slight deviation from the base uni)...Oranage effect is fine. That's it. No more "white out". We're the home team...and we're not Penn State. We only have 6 home games (ahem...Weaver...ahem...schedule more)...stop giving away the aura of gameday in Bburg. Notice I didn't mention Maroon Effect....because EVERY HOME GAME IS MAROON EFFECT!

Well, considering the degree to which I've been told from various people that Weaver has been more or less a figure-head for several years now because of health, there's no reason to think Beamer wouldn't be the AD as a face and public speaker while someone else does the real management.
Also, this is not the first time I've heard this rumor, so I see it as a possibility, though at this point, not until next offseason.
I thought the gallery of the birds around town was fantastic. There were a few of them that were a little off the wall, but some were great.
Agreed, it's pricey. According to their website, you can still get the full sized ones (albeit unpainted). Can't imagine what they'd cost, though. I'd love to get one of the full sized ones and mount it firmly over the entrance to Scott Stadium.
How guys I've been lurking for a while, but I figured I would post because I think I can actually contribute to this discussion. I don't care too much for the NBA, but based on what I've seen from Erick, I'm confident that he can make a team and contribute. The main reason is that he is a scorer and the NBA is a scorer's league. He can shoot very well and he is good at finishing in the lane once he gets by his man. Being able to score from floaters is definitely an art and he is certainly adept at it. Also, from what I've heard from people on the team, he is a good defender. I know he doesn't seem dominant in games, but when he has to carry the load on offense and play 38 minutes a game, I can't fault him for not busting his ass on D.
In regards to the strength argument, yeah he should definitely put on some weight. But outside of Lebron and certain big guys, are there really any NBA players who you look at and think "Damn that dudes jacked!" Probably not. Erick left VT today to start training in DC, so I'm sure he'll be hitting the weights hard over the next few months.
Yeah, of the three moves rumored here:
1. Weaver retires! Yay, we're all ready for that. But most of us respect what he did, his financial management of the athletic department is masterful, and we only need to look at College Park to see how that can get screwy in a hurry.
2. Foster to HC! Okay, that's fine. Foster, Shane....I could go either way.
3. Beamer to AD? Um, no, not really. I would like to see him have something in the department, but AD should be someone with credentials out the wazoo. I hope we seek and land a very accomplished, yet not necessarily well known, AD.

I honestly forgot we had that many highlights last year. That being said I am super pumped for next years team and I'm hopeful that the changes we made will translate into a better team. Oh, and thanks for sharing! #BEATBAMA
