I'm on a mission from God to make you, not the best QB in the ACC, but in the nation!
That's the kind of aim and focus Thomas needs to take that next step, and it looks like he's buying in!
It's just so freaking exciting that perfection is the mentality from our offensive coaching staff. Like someone said earlier, Saban and Alabama ARE BEATABLE... And this is how it will be done.
I don't think Frat House is a good girl's name...
It's the first thing I put on when I get out of the shower.
Hmm, not a dorm but.. I guess I need to name my daughter Cassell.
Rachel would have been close enough ;)
Adding on to that, I don't wash my jersey if we are winning games. You can't wash the luck off
#20. Hipsters: Specifically those of the Richmond variety. Their lord and savior, Shaka Smart, will apparently be sticking around for another year despite allegedly being the lead candidate for the open UCLA job. Instead of a raise, VCU has commissioned students to build him a statute. The statue is actually just four metal beams twined together in different colors that no one is allowed to understand.
I laughed a bit too hard at this.
Thanks for the article. That's a very, very encouraging snippet.
Getting more and more excited for the new season every day.
just caught the interview with Grimes... we need bigger reporters -no excuses in any phase of the program.
Not sure if anyone has posted this article yet (I haven't seen it), but it got me excited.
āHis track record speaks for himself, as far as what heās accomplished, where heās been,ā Beamer said. āHeās got a great knowledge of what he wants to do. The thing about our offense this year is that weāll probably do less in the run game than we did last year. What weāre doing with the tailbacks, theyāre basically running the same play for the first four practices. We really want to get good on two or three foundation runs and what not.
Often times Tech was criticized for having too many plays, and none that they were really good at. Sounds like they're taking a different approach this year. They'll have a couple dominant plays that they can execute perfectly, and then they'll build the offense around that.
The whole second half of the article is worth reading, it also provides a little info about Aaron Moorehead and the receivers, like the punishment for dropped balls.
When you know we actually won the 2011 Sugar Bowl.
That, my friend, is great parenting.
Teaching the offensive players (especially the linemen) to be tough & physical... WHAT A NOVEL CONCEPT!
These contributions have gone above and beyond! Well done, Hokie Nation, keep 'em coming!
That is actually encouraging. It means he is learning from his mistake. Hopefully this spring will settle the question, once and for all, who is the established running back and who will spell him.
If Shane had tried to dog the question, I would be worried, but I think he have good support from Loeffler and Grimes. I think those coaches are gonna help him decide who is the best back.
Morehead already took step to fix that.
I just couldn't name my daughter Rasche..........
Your firstborn child is named after the dorm where you met your future wife. Brodie he is!
Offensive players losing their lunch? Further credence to the benefit of bringing a lunch pail.
She had an interview with Shane Beamer up today

I've included a couple of the more interesting snippets for those of you who don't want to give her page views:
Shane takes a lot of the blame for the running backs not performing well:
I donāt feel like I did a good job of coaching the running backs last year. I take that personally, the way we performed.
More specifically:
we never could settle on one [running back] last year, and I blame myself for not saying these are our guys and going for it. Itās hard. I knew during the season and going into the season itās hard to play four. Iām realizing more now, but we really never felt like anyone separated themselves...but in football youāve got to be able to get your two main guys and have some packages for a couple other guys. Thatās what I hope weāre able to do going forward.
At one point he thought Tony Gregory was going to emerge as the top back:
Tony Gregory was a guy I thought was getting ready to turn the corner and maybe be that guy, and then he got hurt going into the Cincinnati game and missed a few weeks.
He also mentioned not letting the backs get enough carries to get into a rhythm:
I donāt think I was fair to Michael Holmes. Last year the most he carried the ball in one game was 12 times or something like that. Michael needs to carry the ball 15 or 25 times to really get into the flow. I didnāt [give] Michael and all those guys a great opportunity to do that last year because of the way we rotated them. I think if they get more reps and have more carries, the game will slow down for them and theyāll be better. I saw that a little bit with J.C. as the year went on.
So it sounds like Shane is a little more committed to settling on two or three backs this year, even if it means leaving talent on the bench.
I KNEW I was missing something when trying to inscribe it... I just got my name and "Hokies United"
Was DW4 in a suit? Please tell me he was in a suit.
You know you're a Hokie when you almost crash your car whenever Enter Sandman comes on the radio
When you have to watch games at home you play enter sandman through your home theater system before kickoff because its what Hokies do.

I was hesitant about the new OC, but that tweet from Darius Redman put all my fears to rest. And I quote:
"Practice has never worn me out this much!"
Enough said. It is becoming more and more evident to this Hokie that the coaches had become complacent and thus, lead to our mediocre 7-6 season. I Hate Bryan Stinespring!
