You can't really coach someone to be willing to bash. It is an innate trait that you have or you don't.

Good point, although it could just be them PRing a little bit since they know every fan/talking head doesn't want a repeat of last year. Additionally I think Beamer is using this as a motivation tool to make everyone work harder.

Great idea with the vintage Hokie apparel thing. I'm going to have to steal that from you when I get a wife.

I am so psyched about the attention to detail!!! I think that's going to make the biggest difference out of anything these coaches are bringing. If you do all the little things exactly right 100's of times, it's going to be much more fluid and natural in a game.

Your dogs root for VT with no questions asked

You play beer pong over Skype with your brother in Blacksburg so you can pretend you are there on game day

I think it's worth mentioning that the impression I am getting from the coaches is that Drew Harris is either A) Not going to enroll or be cleared or B) Going to redshirt if he does enroll. If the coaches are wanting to sort out the running back situation in the Spring, that puts Harris on the outside looking in. The coaches just don't seem to still believe he will end up in Blacksburg it seems.

Great write up! I have to admit that I was in support of redshirting Edmunds before last season. I saw him in the scrimmages, and was very impressed, but HATED his fumbles. I trusted that we had multiple good backs, and I trusted our coaches, so I was all about it. But man, our running game SUCKED last year. I am really looking forward to seeing how Edmunds has improved over this past season. He has the most potential/upside of all the backs. Edmunds - Coleman could be a great 1-2 punch.

yeah i see your point but it may be difficult for him to see much action at rb and we could use another fast option for WR. I hope Moorehead can get the younger guys ready.

I have some CFB signed stuff as well. What I meant is that you know you're a Hokie if you have something signed by CFB.

Your neighbors know the outcome of the Tech game simply because they can hear you....even with all the windows closed.

Maybe I'm in the minority on this, but I don't want to see him shift to WR. I'd rather see some of the young talent we have step up. Obviously there are question marks, but with Coles healthy and the leader of the group along with Moorehead's intensity I think we have enough there. It's not like he's been a WR before, he's as much of a question mark as the others and is gone after this year, I'd like to see Coles, Knowles, and then some combo of Caleb, Asante, and Stanford, but I trust that the WRs on the field for us will work hard and BLOCK or else Moorehead will pull them.

Considering his injury history I'd be a little cautious at putting Gregory at any returning (infact, I think one of his first injuries may have been on a return. Can anyone confirm)

EDIT: Checked it. He tore his ACL the first time in 2010 on punt teams in the UNC game. This ACL also bugged him during the next season. With this kind of injury history, and influence on his playing, I don't think he should be playing returns. Stick with him just as RB, maybe WR if we want to shift bodies.

I know the defense carries the lunch pail. It's time for the offense to carry a sledgehammer. Bring the lunch pail and the sledgehammer, boys, because its time to go to work.

Great Bitter read right here, I love the last part:

"If we want to have the toughness that we want to have as an offense, we need to demand that," Moorehead said. "Right now, we’re trying to establish that toughness, establish that all those little things that we’re emphasizing in meetings, we’re going to carry it over to practice. And if you don’t do it, we’re going to jump your butt for it."

I love these new coaches more everyday.

The song you sang to your newborn everynight before bed was Tech Triumph....13 years later she still knows the words....

Beamer has also beaten Bama, now he just need to do both at once. TAMU (whom I consider a natural rivalry for VT) of course did it last year.

Really!? I hadn't noticed that...

Maybe another thing that Weaver had asked for "in the best interest of fans" was getting UVA and Miami at home the same season. Or something along those lines.

I couldn't be more excited about what I'm seeing from these new coaches. Accountability, attention to detail, toughness, intensity. This is the kind of stuff that we've been lacking for a while and that's been holding us back from being a truly elite program. Keep up the good work, gentlemen.

You and your wife have filled a plastic bin with Hokie apparel so your non-existant children can have vintage gear when they attend VT in the future.

Your friends check in to see if you're alive if your regular 6:30am "GAMEDAY!" text on every game day morning hasn't come in by 6:45am.

You go to bars it cities other than Blacksburg and try to order a Rail. After the bartender says "WHAT?" about 5 times you realize you're not at Tots.
