I feel like transferring HS at this time is slightly a more important, and worrisome question than his recruitment. If there's factors detrimental to us taking him as a recruit causing him to leave his current HS, that should raise some flags.

There's a creek that runs under the whole football field. You can see the grates for it by North Endzone.

The wheels could be in motion again. I think in Jim Delany's perfect world, the Big Ten poaches UNC and Georgia Tech.

I think Brown has a great chance to be a very good recruiter.

I don't think it's any coincidence that Brown was put in charge of that part of the state either. A fresh face could be a positive step towards making inroads.

It was reported that Gibson was in Newsome's Doghouse. So, my optimism is a fresh set of eyes showing up, wiping everyones slates clean and saying "Performers will play."

I think it got stale on the OL. Looking forward to Grimes' motivation.

1. With Curt Newsome gone, it's not out of bounds for him to want to reassess. At least he's telling us he is reassessing. But he's a VT fan with Deon Newsome, one of his boys, now @ VT, we just need to start recruiting him again.

2. I really like how our staff has evolved into better recruiters, but there is one really big concern: Cornell Brown. He has very few pelts on the wall, and now he's been given one of the premiere areas in the country...at at time when competition down there is fierce AND he's up against the prejudice of the Thouroughbreds. We need to keep a very keen eye on Cornell Brown in this recruiting cycle. Newsome really missed on some key talent the last five years, we need recruiting wins on the peninsula....stat.

well, you also need to make sure you capture the steam coming off of the top of his head.

The reason they filed a lawsuit is because they said that $50m is punitive and not making up for loss of revenue. Maryland agreed that they should owe loss of revenue for the conference, but the $50m is excessive. That's their argument. The ACC is saying "Well, we agreed on it. You may have been against it, but everybody else (sans FSU) agreed to make it $50m so pay up."

Seriously. I don't understand contracts in sports. Sounds clear cut to me but there are probably so many loopholes built in all if these contracts that you could argue anything.

I really doubt you can bring a loaded gun into an airport. Even if he has a concealed weapon permit, which I doubt, there are areas you just can't do that.

they put them in a weird place in order to draw less attention to them. that's probably the only way they could get the people who wanted them taken down in the first place to approve putting them back up.

but I do like your suggestion of putting "home of the fighting gobblers" on the scoreboard. I was always a fan of those letters and I was upset when they never put them back up on the outside of the west stands, where they belong.

Well I'm apparently a bad fan to have not noticed that. Or I just never go to the west side.

I'm all in favor of the horse on the treadmill now.

Not too bad. I definitely like the idea/look of stone framing aspects of the scoreboard. It represents the school and campus well and keeps the scoreboard from being an overwhelming amount of maroon and/or orange.

the grounds for UMD not paying the penalty? To me it's pretty simple, you broke a contract, and it was previously agreed that the penalty for doing so was going to be $50 mil, so, now you must pay $50 mil... What's the complication?
