I still think Logan's undoing this year is lack of faith in the Oline and WRs. He's pressing and trying to do too much. I agree he's been inconsistent, but I think next year with a DJ Coles back and receivers that play consistently and (hopefully) an improved line he will have a big year. I'll be interested to read French's analysis since it seemed like they were somewhat effective out of the I. I saw this game as a positive, the Dline and LBs were outstanding and I think Exum played great. Hopefully next year with Fisher and Fuller the Fourth (F4) we can use Kyle back to a nickleback/safety/LB hybrid where he is much more effective. I still think we need changes in the coaching staff, but its good to see that the players still have heart and can still play VT football.
I'll tell you what, thats what a Night Game in Lane is all about. Depressed for not winning, but happy for our fans and a team that fought frickin hard.
The play calls looked good, LT3 just lacked a little accuracy as we've seen him struggle with this year. But all in all, great game.......I've really seen the play calling come around.
Defense, awesome.
The atmosphere in Lane was terrific, our defense SMOTHERED FSU and EJ spent much of the night under pressure or on his ass. FSU has a pretty good offense and they did absolutely dick for much of the night. I get frustrated with the secondary play as well, but against the talent on the other side of the field, they looked pretty good to me.
Last night had a lot of positives; JC and Gregory looked good, QB pressure was high, NEGATIVE RUSHING YARDS and word that Michael Cole is okay. I hate to lose, I particularly hate to lose to FSU and I DESPISE losing when I bring my FSU alum cousin to the game, but the effort was there and we executed well for the most part. If we'd played like that all season, we'd be 8-2, in my opinion.

For years i like the rest of us have been spoiled by 10 win seasons. During that run the thought would creep in my head "am i a fare weather fan?". I have been a Fighting Gobblers fan since around 1996 when i was 10 years old, all i have seen is Virginia Tech be successful on the gridiron. I have always wondered how i would take a season like we are currently going through would i just give up on them and not watch the games or wear the colors and symbols and jerseys? Or would i be there every step of the way, would i read analysis everyday and keep up with every storyline the team goes through? Would i still jump out of my seat and still cheer my heart out at the TV for VT even though we are 4-5 and now 4-6 and have no chance at the ACC title or a BCS bowl birth? I am proud to say I still wear my #3 Logan jersey and my Virginia Tech hoodie, i check thekeyplay.com, espn's hokie football homepage, and Andy Bitters VT blog everyday. And i still jump out of my seat on almost everyplay! I am proud to say I am A TRUE HOKIE FAN! and i am looking forward to next season with hope not fear.

...,and when playing center its always snap first, block second. low and unruly snaps are the result of figuratively trying to do these things in reverse order. when you spend your time pre-snap focused on tearing the DT's head off instead of calming your self to get a controlled/consistent snap. shit hits the fan

I'm used to this happening, I'm glad we weren't humiliated on national TV. It's just a season where things just don't go your way. Very very proud of the effort of the team. It was one hell of a game.

I hate that he can say that. I hate that it's actually true in this game. And I hate it that this game actually kind of takes the fire out from under the butts of O'Cain and Stinespring.

but seriously, hell of a game by the from 7, I thought Exum looked great. I think next year with a sure-handed primary receiver (Coles) we have some hope. Still need a new Oline coach though...
