I have put approx zero thought into my picks this year, and it shows. I did not learn my lesson from last year and have picked Texas teams that will just totally fuck me over.

Tejas
Kansas State
Stanford (I originally picked ND but hated myself too much for it, so I'll just risk going 0-fer)
KIFFYKINS
PENISES
Tejas A&M

Tejas
KState
ND
Southern Cal
Sakerlina

Not commenting this week because I'm hungover. But I'm sure most will be wrong anyway.

UT - thinking about going to this one...!
KState - They are for real
Stanford - I will not believe ND is for real until the win the NCG...
Washington - Transitive property pick here. UW > Stanford > USCw
LSU - ?? maybe ?? toughest pick of the bunch
Tech - might as well root for the only tech in the top 25...

The chop on the left looks EXACTLY like my Father in Law. That scares me.

Texas
ISU
Stanford should at least cover
USC easy
Game Cocks are looking good and LSU looked bad last week
Louisiana Tech to cover

Mmm...delish bourbon. I would like to request a photo of you drinking that fine top shelf bourbon. I haven't glanced at that section in the ABC store since college.

Okies cover
KState covers
Trees get the points, golden domers win
Trojans don't break, and cover (see what I did there?....so proud of myself)
South Kakalaki wins outright
TaMu covers and dashes the hopes of another BCS buster.

I am 100% certain I have no idea how to pick this week. let's just flip coins for another week at 6-0 shall we?

Texas -- OU is the poor mans version of the POINT-O-MATIC that is WVU. Defense wins, the spread.

Kansas State -- Battle of the flyover states. It will be a quick flight methinks.

Stanford -- ND wins but in a 17-14 kind of manner. T.O.P keeps drives long.

USC -- I think line mismatches gut Udub

Sakerlina -- LSU's offense is like watching a one armed man in a rowboat. Defense will keep it low scoring though. I dont see an UGA repeat.

Louisianna Tech -- FO SHO

Bourbon of The Week: Virginia Gentleman because it is as foul as our effort thus far.

1. Agree 100%, and yeah, there's no hiding from bull in the ring. It gets everyone's blood hot, and the players on the team see who is dominate, who wants, and who doesn't.

2. I didn't know Brooks was a fan, that's pretty cool. I agree, Branthover is the better option now, but Brooks has nailed a couple of touchbacks, but stil,l why waste a year of eligibility? Let him get stronger and work on his technique.

3. Yup, he struggled, reminded me of a raw JPP for the Giants (on a bit of a smaller) scale. It's taken him every day of being in the NFL to learn to play the run. He'll get better. My guess is he's showing the coaches something in practice, to get on the field that quickly after being suspended. I think that says something positive about him, working hard and putting a dumb decision behind him.

4. I still disagree here. It *sucks* he can't help the team this season, but in the longterm it's the smarter move. He has two younger brothers, and one of the strengths of the program on the recruiting trail (since we don't have bagmen and all) is pitching integrity and keeping promises.

I will patiently wait for Franks interview and listen to him say...

"Well we did some really good stuff on offense and defense out there today, if you take away the mistakes that we made, we would've won that game."

Then, I will offer to write for French, although it may be a little shorter.

"The offense is quite offensive and the defense can't defend. THE END."

Then prepare my mind for Klempson.

...really frustrating. It just seems like we are destined to screw this up. I know its delicate, but the decisions we have made so far aren't eliciting much confidence. Either he's the best TB we have or he's not. And if he's not, he should move to LB because he's the best young LB we have.

Agree about the KO's. I thought moving up the line would create more of an opportunity to pooch it to the up man OR kick it out of the back of the endzone. One or another, don't line drive it to the goalline.

Just like punts, low comes back at you fast.

... in tabulating the results for week 6. Although I'm tempted to slink into the corner and not point out that I only got one right...

Ok for the record... I want Beamer to stay as HC, never want to get rid of Enter Sandman, and eight 10 win seasons is impressive in any conference. Yes bad years do happen to every team, but...

I'm skeptical at Tech's ability to rebound off a bad year, if we do in fact end up having one. When top tier teams have bad years (Texas, Ohio St, Alabama for example) no one is doubting they will be down for very long and it is expected of them to come back and compete with the best teams. VT on the otherhand I think is a different story. They are on that next tier down right outside of the elite programs, even in their ACC prime they are still losing too many OOC games to inferior opponents or top 5 teams. It doesn't help that VT plays in the ACC, currently ranked 6th in power conference rankings. Many fans outside of the ACC view the conference as a joke. With traditional powerhouses like Miami and Florida St. having troubling coming "back", I don't want to see VT to have a scenario like that.

So to conclude, I think Beamer is a great coach and has shown that he can reload every year, IF that stops happening though(this year could be the beginning for the Chicken littles), not good, because I'm not sure VT can have the same success without Beamer.
