...cheering for the Dookies come Bowl Season. #goacc
because that's what we're doing this season. Focusing on fun and friends and trying to not let the football ruin that.
But later, in private, I'll probably break some shit.
and possibly getting yelled at by wife for being loud, angry and then depressed for the remainder of the Saturday.
From this Roanoke Times article: http://m.roanoke.com/mapp/story.aspx?arcID=315220
"The coaches tried to instill that desire — or at least refresh it — in Tuesday's practice, where players went through hitting drills they hadn't done all season. Taylor said it used to be a given that they'd do those on a Monday after a poor tackling performance. He was glad to see the drills return, because he's seen them work."
Why haven't they done these drills til now? You wait until after the 3rd loss? I realize this is by far the worst defensive performance we've seen in quite some time, but they weren't without fault prior to this.
So confused...next thing you know I'll be seeing white helmets on Saturday...
Let's get rid of [Insert Color] Effect games and replace with [Just Try Not To Wear Other Teams' Colors] Effect

I couldn't believe the line when I saw it, I don't bet on college football (outside of bets with UVa fans forcing them to wear Tech clothing the day after they lose to us) but this line made me want to. I figured at best we'd be small favorites if not even given how bad we've looked the last two weeks.
Thinking about putting $50 on Duke to win...We are 9 and half favorites dont know what that pay out is but I'll be happy with the money but sad at the loss or happy with the win and sad with losing money
Beamerball is coming after every kick; even extra points. I remember watching the 2006(?) Miami game in the OB and seeing Miami get an XP blocked and taking it the other way for 2 points. Helped turn the tide in the game and led to a win. Beamerball is also a suffocating and scoring defense. The defense really hasn't been tremendous in a few seasons and scoring is few and far between. Beamerball means booming punters with solid punt coverage and kickers who make 40+ FGs on the regular. Punters have struggled the past few seasons. Beamerball is not getting kicks blocked. Beamerball is not giving up TDs on kickoffs, which happened against UNC.
Okay makes sense. Thanks for clearing up that two year long mystery for me.
How far can they go with it?
I love that we're going back to fundamentals. We should practice them throughout each season and not just to try to turn things around. That's why they're called fundamentals. They're important.
On Edmunds, I think that he will help the team but that it was a good move to redshirt. He would have been stuck in a four back rotation if he played this season. But I believe he's going to be a big contributor against Bama next season.
About Knowles - he is going to be (and is) a stud for us. I mean, his first catch is a TD on a big play that we needed against GT, then he houses a kick against UNC? And he's only a freshman? I believe he's going to be our Sammy Watkins... Minus the suspensions for involvement with drugs.
Good call on the unis! I like how they look in you previous pic though, hopefully looks better on the field than the dummy.
**Can we start collecting donations to buy the team maroon pants??!
(Seriously I think Hokie Nation would pull that off too. Why don't they get it??)
The title of this thread made me laugh.
I'm glad the coaches are breaking it down to fundamentals and striving to get the most out of all the players.
""Normally when we do, that next game our execution and fundamentals are a lot better," Gray said." --> So do this every friggin week then coach!!
It's crazy to see players clearly not giving it everything the have on the field. It just can't understand it. With 3 loses already you'd think the players would be pissed and ready to start giving it their all... Hopefully we'll see that against Duke on Saturday.
Either way they'll be flowin more than likely.
Tech scored 34 points so it wasn't all bad every play. There was inconsistency. The biggest disappointment was the D.
Love the "Halftime" picture haha
If we lose, which I am confident that we won't, I will be incredibly disappointed.
I will be irritable all of Saturday.
But I will not stop supporting the Hokies.
I am not a fair weather fan that only pays attention wile we are winning.
I don't think any of you guys are either.
Talk to any alum from the old days - they yelled and screamed for their team even if they had an awful record.
Every week is a new game.
Rails. Many of them.
Looks like JJ is ignoring the depth and going with a quick uptempo game plan. They have been going crazy in the gym/weight room since summer started.
As a Hokie and a Philadelphia Flyers/Eagles fan, I'm used to having good teams that disappoint in big games. But losing to Duke in Football and having a losing record past the halfway point in the season is something my brain cannot compute.

This team needs all the confidence they can get to propel them the rest of the season. They need some big plays to go their way early and often. They need to feel the support of the fans so show up and be loud....Not to mention there will be some big time recruits there this weekend so yea we need to win badly.
