From everything I've heard, both Smoke and Blanding are UVa leans at this point. It does bode well for us if they're in Blacksburg for the spring game, the atmosphere will make Festivus look like a m Pop Warner game. Virginia does have a nice Bayside pipeline going: Henry Coley, Demetrious Nicholson, Anthony Cooper, so who knows.

With Tweedy and JG-W both graduating after this year they need someone who can be a legit Whip in 2013 getting reps this fall.

That Jarrett is listed at Rover and Bonner is listed at FS?

Interesting twist there.

it was a retweet .. nonetheless, he liked it enough to retweet it
@JayHolmes_ @bucky757 How about the best in the "13" & "14" class come together and play your college ball for in-state powerhouse #VT :-D

rumor has it that bucky will be committing this weekend .. fuller ??? don't know about that but it does make sense that with o'daniel committing ... if kendall already knows where he's going -- and if it's VT -- he'll go ahead and commit.

other folks think that we may be getting commits from some of the following:
osterloh, pfaff, dj reid, wyatt teller, newsome

it is interesting that smoke is really trying to make it too -- he seems more interested in VT than people think but most think he's still uva-bound .. i think he's oos bound

another thing -- jaylen holmes, andrew brown, and da'shawn hand from class of '14 will all be in attendance .. this is huge .. hand and brown are TOTAL studs (5*) .. getting them on campus for this early is HUGE .. word is quin blanding .. another prospective 5* may be there too.

vt is sure to get 1 or more commits this weekend .. question is -- who?

wasn't he recruited as a rover anyhow? if his pass coverage is good enough, can he play some rover? seems athletic enough. whatever the case, it's definitely nice to see him step up. with the injuries from last year in the backer corps, i'm sure we could bring rvd in and move tweedy somewhere else if need be. rvd .. by all accounts .. appears to be the best all-around .. won't be at the game ... but curious to see if he's THAT damned good. if he is, they've got to find a way to get him on the field this season, even if we're talking about early-down rover.

and, it is set up for Van Dyke to stand out, because Laiti and DiNardo are not going to be in the two deep next year unless some very very bad things happen.

plus, if Ronnie Van Dyke puts on a show against the ones, what do you do with him next year if the plan is to rotate JWG-Tweedy? Do you play the best player, or play the upperclassman? Beamer has almost always played the upper classmen (see Cam Martin starting over Cody Grimm, Lamont Pegues starting over Shyrone Stith, Keith Burnell starting over Kevin Jones, and Al Clark starting over Mike Vick as prime examples.) With his background as a safety, you have to assume that Van Dyke is the best in pass coverage (where Tweedy struggles) and by all accounts he has been sturdy in run support (an area where JWG struggled in the past.

Acree is on the third team, by all accounts we can go ahead and affix the bust label to him.

Shuman-Arkema-Gibson are the guys I am focusing on in that 2 group. I have no clue what they see in Farris, who has looked brutal every time I have seen him take a snap, either last year or on the spring film. Goins will be good, but he is a year away and for him to see time, Painter and Via would have to be hurt (and I think they would move Gibson outside first.

I heard about a tweet yesterday from Hodges about the best talent from '13 and '14 "playing for in-state powerhouse VT" or something to that effect. His twitter is private, so I can't verify it. Anyone else see this? That definitely seems like a good sign to me

Also heard that Smoke Mizzell is trying hard to make it to the game. Everything points to him being a UVA lean, but he'd be a huge get for this class, even though it seems like we are only taking one RB

Don't we already have enough offenses? Shouldn't we really focus on "perfecting" one offense?

The wahoos counted their players, coaches, media, staff, people walking by who turned their head towards the stadium, cars that drove by on Alderman rd, stray cats.....

now guys, remember the lax team had a huge match vs cornell that day. . .

On the Sean Bielawski show, Bud Foster said they're going to spot the White team 21 points. I'll still take the Maroon Team.
