Northern Illinois -3.5 vs Ohio -- LATE, but would have been Ohio
Southern Miss vs Houston -13 -- So. Miss
UGA vs LSU -13.5 -- UGA
Michigan State vs Wisky -9.5 -- MSU
Oklahoma at Okie State -3.5 -- Oklahoma
Clemson vs VT -7 -- Hokies

It's Championship Week, and I don't trust many of the spreads.

1. MV1 -- Why did we RS him my freshman year in 1998?
2. Randall -- 2004 was my favorite season (other than '99, of course).
3. Tyrod -- In Tyrod We Trust, nuff said.
4. Moore -- I miss having a DE who was in the backfield on EVERY SINGLE PLAY.
5. Sean Glennon -- sike, Kevin Jones, so much fun to watch.

Well we have come to the end of the road for the Pick 6. Such a sad and happy time right now. The end of the season brings me the blues but the fact that VT is playing tomorrow really cheers me up. Well that and the booze. If it was UVPledge v/s FClemson I doubt there would be much happiness in this heart of mine. Alas, there is no reason to worry about that now, just enjoy the last of the season and gear up for another SEC/National championship game some time in February. On to the picks.

Northern Ohio - I checked the Pick6 for this week on Thursday to see if there was a Thursday game and not seeing one, decided to make my normal booze induced Friday night picks. As I struggle to get to .500, this is just the start I need.

Houston - I thought Tulsa had the best shot of beating Houston this year and that didn't happen. Their D is better than it hasn't been I really think this is their year for the national championship or at least a shot at it, or maybe not even a shot at it but a BcS bowl none the less.

LSU - I am stealing this from the Solid Verbal, LSU and and everything. No matter what the spread this team will cover. I am rooting for some chaos though and would love to see the upset. I fear we are about to spend the next 8 months or so hearing about the SEC all the time. Well that and Duke and UNC basketball.

Wisky - They lost in the first meeting so I think they have to win in this one. Also they are the better team and nothing says championship football like a half empty stadium in Indianapolis. Russell and Montee will roll over MSU.

Oklahoma - I have gone back and forth on this game but the more it seems like this is OSUs year, I have to go with Oklahoma. Big Game Bob is good on the road and although they have a lot of injuries, I think they win this game.

FClemson - Clemson is a wounded animal. Unlike last week, everyone is picking the Hokies this week. The reason the adjective or noun Clemsoning exists is b/c they win when they are not supposed to and lose when they are expected to win. I am afraid this will be a Clemsoning in the way we don't want it. They were good once so they have it in them. We have improved but we can still lay an egg now and then.

These final picks were brought to you by my favorite holiday beer, Jolly Roger Christmas Ale by Maritime Pacific. Yo-Ho-Ho. Here's to another great season, great beer and FClemson. Go Hokies.

I even looked yesterday to see when the games were....oh well here are my picks. It really doesn't matter because I was going to pick Ohio anyways.

Btw beerco picking Tech to cover kinda scares me.....he's told me personally that he never picks them to cover and he has been wrong quite a few times in the last half of the season on his Hokies picks

My top five Hokies since we're listing:
1) Bryan Randall- 2004- made all the big throws that year. ACC POY. Nicest person as well.

2) Tyrod Taylor- 3rd and 31 against FSU in '07 sealed the spot in my top five but just kept going up and up.

3) Danny Coale- He's like 7-11: "not always doing business but always open"

4) Xavier Adibi- originally had a tie with him and Hall but 'X' at his best was a top five linebacker in the COUNTRY. Loved Hall but X took so many games over in '06/'07.

5) Jeff King/Justin Harper (CHANGE/TIE)- both incredible pass receivers who made ridiculous game saving or winning grabs more than once.

At six I would also place Vick like some others and Vince Hall- (Vick) best player in school history, but only starting two years hurts him in my list and Hall was a great linebacker but I remembered the LSU game in 2007 (awful memories) and the way he got destroyed by LSU's center on nearly every running play still sticks out.

Agreed. Next two games are key: if he has normal games with some fumbles I can see him staying to improve and get a shot at a Heisman and maybe even that elusive BCSNG Bid. As an RB if he's projected first round, with the usually short career length of past RB's he's gotta take the money and run.

The ACC Champion Va Tech Hokies

Beer of the week:

Olde Hickory Event Horizon- Honey brewed aged in bourbon barrels. Like the ACC Championship it comes once a year in North Carolina, is actually hard to get and will be so sweet with a VICTORY! GO HOKIES!

Ooooo Hi Oooooo - Are there really no better games than this to pick from?
Houston - All though I don't want Boise to back its way into a BCS bowl, I always root for the lower ranked team... force of habit
LSU Would love to have two teams in the Nat'l Championship that can't win there conference. It would just exemplify the nonsense that I love about College Football.
MSU - I'm a fan of Russel Wilson as long as we don't have to play him and they are ranked behind us.
Ok State - Its always fun to move up in the rankings even if we can't get to #2!
Clemson - The Hokies are going to put the nail in the coffin of Clemson's once breakout season.

I don't think he'll see the field all that much. Against UVa Nick Dew played all 4 snaps at Whip, and in the first game against Clemson G-W only played in 17 of the 68 snaps on defense. Long story short, I think we'll see a lot of Fuller at Whip to matchup better with Clemson's wideouts, and there's a chance Dew could play over Tweedy.

Ohio - SOLICH'D

Houston - Houston wins in a blowout; that's what they do.

Georgia - I have the Dawgs looking respectable, covering and hungry for whatever B1G they play in a bowl.

Whiskey - Magic isn't going to strike twice for Sparty.

Sooners - I'll always pick the Sooners until the Pokes get over the hump.

VT - As long as Logan gets his touches carrying the ball we'll be fine.

Ohio - who the hell knows though
Houston - not going to drop the last game of the season
LSU - they will cover at least...if not my a larger margin!
MSU - can't lose to Whiskey 2x
Oklahoma - Better than OSU
VT - I can't pick against the Hokies in this game...

Hokies

1. Tyrod- spent the same years at Tech as me, complete badass, no other explanation needed
2. Michael Vick- wasn't a fan when he was in school, but love watching him in the pros now
3. Macho Harris- mr do-it-all, great athlete
4. Andre Smith- did everything the right way, and ended up being a huge redzone weapon his senior year
5. JC Coleman- love how this kid is gung-ho about us, recruiting other guys, and seems like a playmaker

1. Tyrod - what a competitor.
2. Brandon Flowers - Hardest hitting defensive back I saw during my time in Blacksburg. Bar none.
3. Josh Morgan - Almost singe-handedly brought us back in the '05 Sugar Bowl. Him playing for my favorite professional team probably boosts him relative to other Hokies. Did everything, was a great WR, blocked kicks, and also a good return man.
4. David Wilson - ALL. OF. THE SPEED. And the Whip, duh.
5. Jeff King - If only because of all the time we spent in line together getting london broil at West End.

1. Andre Davis - made a hugh impression on me when I was growing up a Hokie
2. Michael Vick - spent a full day on Worsham Field signing autographs for the whole Hokie Kids Club when I was younger
3. Eddie Royal - just a great guy and great player
4. Tyrod Taylor
5. Bryan Randall
HM: Xavier Adibi, Darryl Tapp, Cody Grimm

Cyrus Laurence - Possibly as good as DW, before a knee injury ended his career. He never had the offensive line that DW does, so that impacted his numbers. But an incredible back.
Bruce Smith - possibly the best football player I have ever seen
Corey Moore-a fantastic DE...but might make my list if for no other reason, he coined the term "Terror Dome".
Tyrod-how consistent he was is still a marvel
Jim Pyne-best OL ever in maroon and orange
as no. 6 I'd have Michael Vick-VT would have had a much slower rise to national prominence w/o Mr. Electric

Ryan 'Lil Sweetness' Williams: Really wish he hadn't dashed for the NFL early.

Corey Moore: Great defensive lineman who brought a lot of attention to Bud Foster's Lunch Pail D.

Macho Harris: I miss seeing such a compact-sized player delivering such big hits on opposing offenses. Man, was that fun to watch. But I think we have a good replacement for Macho in Kyle Fuller.

Tyrod Taylor: This man has to be in your top 5. One of the all-time winningest QBs at Tech. Without him, a lot of the W's over the past 4 years would be L's. Uncanny ability to stay calm under pressure and get it done in the clutch (see Nebraska '09).

Danny Coale: It seems like nobody ever feels like they have to cover this guy. Pretty stupid, considering he's our 2nd leading receiver in just about every major category in the record books. His legacy will be forever cemented with this bone-chilling commentary by Sean McDonough, which I am not ashamed to admit, I have watched 1,000 times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4WGOZVTCK4

Brent Bowden/Shayne Graham: It was hard to keep it cut down to five people. And I think we can really appreciate the skills of these two gentlemen with our kicking issues this season.
