all they needed to to was pay attention to the news. UNC fired the D-line coach DURING the season last year his relationship with an agent. The academic wrong doings were also uncovered during last football season. These people made their own bed.
I know these kids are adults, but I do feel bad for them. When the man in charge is saying that things are going to be OK, why have any reason to believe otherwise?
I wish the best for Hughes, Holts, Turner and Williams -- UNC is a good school and Chapel Hill is a great town. But enjoy watching the school one state above do it's thing for the next 5 years.

No kidding about the management and coaching of talent. My example is Justin Harper...got no press coming out of high school or hargrave m.a. then tore it up his last two years at VT. Hopefully the Ravens can get him into the fold this year.
Though I love what we do with the talent we do get hopefully Shane and Cornell can continue this recruiting tear and bring in some four and five stars on a consistent basis. We've had really good moments with the two and three star guys (3 Big East, 4 ACC titles, NCG Appearance, 7 BCS/BCA games and the '09 Orange Bowl title) so imagine if the same coaching continues with the more skilled recruits coupled with the guys you know Frank and company will continue to bring in...could be a very good decade for Virginia Tech football!

Don't forget that Cody Grimm was a walk-on at Tech that went on to be an All-American, a local legend, and a starter for Tampa Bay during his rookie season.

ALSO, just goes to show what our program can do with talent. We are sending guys like Andre Davis, a 2star high school recruit, to the NFL! What our coaches have done and continue to do is absolutely INCREDIBLE!

The more I read the posts I begin to sip the Kool-Aid just like last year. Great read and facts Hokiebonoz. You're 100% spot on: we do have serious talent coming back and though replacing T-Mobile is going to be tough, LT3 can do it and offers a pro-style/multiple offense the prototypical QB- 6'4" to 6'6" with a rocket arm and mobility. Defense is going to be stout hopefully and Beamerball will make a return (got some speed back...expect some blocks this year). The last few I've noticed Frankenator calling off punt and kick blocks because he's afraid of getting burned but we gotta live close to the edge and I think the infusion of young blood into the coaching staff will motivate Frank to start this again. To echo Joe- I am reasonably fired up now. Can't Wait til September 3rd!!! LET'S GO...HOKIES!

I think O'Brien is going to regress, big time, under Gary Crowton and Randy Edsall. Neither of them can sniff the track record that the Fridge had developing quarterbacks or scheme a passing attack like the big man.
I'm interested to see how good Mike Glennon is in year one. Contrary to Edsall and Crowton Tom O'Brien and Dana Bible are adept at developing QBs, and have confidence in him after letting Wilson go. I wouldn't be shocked if he and Sean Renfree are the best pure passers in the ACC.
Nice job guys! I tell you I think Davon Morgan may make an impact in Rex Ryan's defense in NY. He's got the speed to overtake Eric Smith or Brodney Poole as a blitz safety which Ryan's 3-4 requires. Really great to see Evans get a deal especially after the bad surprise at the draft.
