JuJu's nickname made me LOL... its funny because its true.
Nick Acree (I knooooow he's 3rd string) - Mr. Pretty (Coach Wiles: "We're going to walk him out to the coin flip regardless, with a chain around his neck, going, 'Arg! Arg! Arg!'") (Coach Foster: "He realized that being pretty is not going to get it done. You’ve got to be a football player. With him, he has so much to learn still as a football player. Just basic things.")
David Wilson - Mr. HokiESQ (a girl can dream...)
Josh Oglesby - Mr. Twitter
Danny Coale - Mr. Can't Touch This

Cornerback Rashad Carmichael and rover Davon Morgan have to be replaced as starters, but with Jayron Hosley, Eddie Whitley, Kyle Fuller and Antone Exum returning, there are plenty of playmakers for Virginia Tech to depend upon. One of the biggest changes to the defense is in the secondary, where Exum has moved from free safety to rover, but this year, the free safety and rover will be interchangeable and share similar responsibilities.
This tweak is a chance for Exum to flourish and have a breakout season alongside free safety Eddie Whitley. Virginia Tech began spring practices on Tuesday with Exum preparing to be the starter after serving as the No. 2 free safety a year ago.
“We’re the communication out there, so there’s a lot of responsibility on us,” Exum said of he and Whitley. “I couldn’t be more ready. I’m really excited to be able to start on the college level like this for Bud Foster and his defense, I’m real excited.”
Exum played in every game last year with five starts when the Hokies lined up in their nickel defense. He’s more potential than he is production at this point, but that could change this season. It’s not a dramatic position change, but it’s one that could benefit the entire defense if Exum gets a better grasp of it this offseason.
“We’re putting a good player at a position that is good for him,” said coach Frank Beamer. “We’ll get him all over the place. He’s a talented guy. I think it’s going to help him and in turn help us.”

“It’s just like a burden off my back,” Thomas said. “It’s so nice to know you’re gonna be able to go out there and play every down unless something tragic happens. I could have played tight end right off the start, but I think it’s better now that I’m getting this chance to get up there and showcase my quarterback abilities.”
“I think we’re really gonna throw the ball down the field better than we did last year,” Thomas said. “Of course, a lot of that’s on my back, but with the weapons that we have — [wide receivers Jarrett Boykin, Danny Coale and Dyrell Roberts] on the outside — we should be able to throw it around the yard.”

Was googling some Hokie news and Springapalooza came up in the Google News results. The Key Play is WINNING!
he makes twitter a better place.
He won't be enrolled until summer, but you're right, withe the lack of quality depth he's someone who could earn playing time in August camp.
Lanier is winning me over:

Will arguably our best wide receiver corps ever suffer as a result of a new quarterback, annually inconsistent line play, and teams stacking the box to stop the run?
Each year I buy wholesale into the "this o-line is going to be great" because, normally, it can't get any worse. But if they can't pass block well, and we continue to run slow-developing pass patterns, then I'm afraid that LT will get eaten alive, especially by dominant defensive lines. Yes we return 80% of the line with an upgrade at center, but these are the same guys who couldn't block JMU. And as for LT, what he has in arm strength, I think he lacks in the Tyrod-type ability to place throws perfectly in coverage.
Utilize LT's cannon arm and let Dyrell and DW turn on the burners. Do that often enough and teams will stop stacking the box.
I'm intrigued by Dominique Patterson. Like you said Joe we haven't had a big body at Whip since Anderson, and that worked out pretty well. I like that fact we're getting bigger across the board too. We definitely got mauled by Boise and brutalized by Stanford. FSU and BC both have bigger offensive lines and if we're serious about competing for another ACC Championship, let alone the National Championship, we need bigger bodies to play as fast as we do now.

urban dictionary is your friend. lol
i suspect its more #2 than #1 tho.
Saw this tweet:
"@Dyrell_Roberts I am so #weaaaakkkkk right now. I got the writers for the team saying #Yurt when they talk about me in articles lol #YurtBoyz we in here!"
Woo!
I like this one myself

Another very infomative read. Very good stuff in here, learn something new with each post I read. Thanks!
If keeping Bruce Taylor and Rivers both at Mike then even if Rivers passes Jack Tyler still wouldn't get much burn. Would be hard on Rivers since he started as a soph but going to be a reserve as a senior.
Based on how they were thinking of burning Chase Williams' shirt last year will be interesting if he makes a run at Edwards for the starting spot at Backer.
Adjusting estimate if it stays Edwards starting at Backer and if Patterson wins whip would be a gain of 35 pounds in front 7.
Mike: Bruce Taylor, Jack Tyler, Barquell Rivers
Backer: Tariq Edwards, Chase Williams, Telvion Clark
