And our 3-pt shooting as noted during the telecast is way down. Last season second in ACC (38%), this year 14th in ACC (28%) before yesterday's debacle. Baker is best and she is below our average from last year. Just can't score anywhere consistently.

I'll just say that I hope he continues to mature and grow and find success along the way.

Kolby suggesting the Gosnell wants to stay but Indiana has offered him A LOT of money. He is not in the portal.

Wow. I'm guessing that (1) whatever information you have, it is quite bad and (2) you are probably not willing/able to share it.

I'm actually more than fine with that. Old enough to remember when VT used to have a strong power running game. If we can re-establish that next year and then start to build out the deep play action passes, we could have a good offense in a couple of years. Need drastic improvement with the pass blocking and the QB play and the WR play and the play calling to get to a good passing game, so won't bother me a bit if we are ground and pound for a year.

I think one of the variables with WR is Chanz Wiggins and Keylen Adams who were highly rated guys, but dealt with injuries this year and that's why we didn't see them. If neither of those guys is ready to play next year, that would be a pretty strong indictment on Mines as a WR coach.

Additionally like you mentioned, a more competent offense and passing game would likely let us get more out of everyone.

well, we got the QB - I'm still worried about the WR room though. We haven't developed there and I don't love the talent we have. That said, it looks like we're probably going to be a heavy running team with lots of 12 personnel alignments in year 1. The passing game will go through the TEs and checkdowns to the RB who leaks out of the backfield with two WRs running deeper routes

Im worried about every position except kicker.

Anyone else worried about the WR room? Or are we all hoping (because we have to [?}) that we a) get a new QB who can also b) make more than one read and dramatically elevate the passing game performance next year?

To me the biggest issue by far is lack of post players.
on defense there's no backstop when our guards are beaten, nobody to haul in defensive rebounds, nobody to slow down a good post on the other team
on offense, it puts extra pressure on the guards who are probably pretty good when part of an inside-out offense but no true post threat on the floor for us means the D can lock out in on perimeter shooters.

well then, blue chip ratio needs an update. With the frequency of transfers these days, it should be based on who is actually on the roster starting the season, not who recruited them out of HS

Transfers easily

He transferred from UNC after a coaching change and now transferring from PSU after a coaching change. I don't think transferring after coaching changes qualifies as "transfers easily"

"I can't allow myself to be undervalued" is just screaming "They didn't pay me enough."

Rumor is Tony Rojas got $1.2 million and Campbell, after being one of the best LBs in the country while Rojas was hurt most of the year, was offered $800k. 3rd Team All-Big 10, led PSU in total tackles and solo tackles, and led the team in run PFF grade.

Would instantly give us one of the best LBs in the country, and considering we're losing Woodson and have had porous LB play the past couple years, this is exactly the type of guy and position we should shell out for (the others being QB, LT, and an edge rusher).

got a buddy who is getting remarried later this year - says hes going to have the same best man and that the best man has already told him his speech is going to start with "It's great to see half of you again...."

But I'm just so happy with the recent changes that my heart made me donate, even if my head says it's wrong.

Minchey was my #1, but Grunk was up that second group for me and above Pribula. I was curious about Bryce Baker from UNC who might be a stud. But I like getting a guy in Grunk who has actual playing experience (also a plus over Minchey).
