Are we even sure it's pork gristle? I'm thinking you're being generous

Huh? How does that analogy make any sense?
McDonalds makes a lot of money because of its business model. It's cheap, convenient, and has huge advertising campaigns. Movies that make the most money do so because people want to pay to watch it.
Popularity and success is an industry-reckonized standard of excellence in the arts. It's not the only standard, but it is definitely one of the major metrics to define movie quality . These terms are common in in the industry to describe movie quality: "blockbuster" "box-office hit" "box-office bomb" "top-grossing film" "cult-classic" etc. Look at any Wikipedia page on a year in films, it will describe two metrics: gross sales and awards.
Look like Miami keeps all that. Which is fine, because that means we'll be able to keep all of our CFB money down the road.
Do you think we enter the rankings this week?
It's interesting to watch Finebaum cry about the chaos of the portal and Alabama getting exposed in the playoffs, as you know some big money is going to be spent this week.
Alabama and Ohio State are probably writing some big checks as they choke back the tears.
Maybe he'll change his mind after yesterday.
And goddammit, I can't find the gif I want for this. Looking for that scene in the Natural, where after Hobbs strikes out the Whammer (who we all know was Babe Ruth, though they never used his name for some reason), Harriet Bird changes the direction she's looking from Ruth to Hobbs. But my google-fu was not strong enough today. Does not bode well for my coming up with good gifs for the Portal today. If anybody can pull off that gif (I'm at work, or I would fire up the laptop), it would be greatly appreciated.
Edit2: Found the scene, just need to make a gif out of it. Starts at 3:37.
Edit3: NM (Left in the above to show how angsty I am about today.)

Same
I'm okay with not him. As a backup plan to Grunkmeyer? Sure. But not as 1A.
Edit: I meant as a backup plan if Grunk doesn't come here, not as Grunk's backup. He won't come here if Grunk does. And I want Grunk. Bad.
Missouri quarterback transfer Beau Pribula plans to visit Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, a source tells @CBSSports.Stanford is another team in the mix with him too. https://t.co/hmjQ8C1Zmk pic.twitter.com/8nIDgAdKKf— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) January 2, 2026
Fun fact: I believe this is the first (non-Prince) movie or TV show that's won the rights to use Purple Rain
The Prince estate says that the popularity surge of Kate Bush was a factor in that decision (read: we like $$$)
Also, if ya'll have never listened to her album Hounds of Love give it a listen. The first half especially is banger after banger.
But only for a limited time...
Okay, so who's up next? Anybody know who's a potential pickup that's a safeties coach with co-dc potential?

(It's probably that PSU TE.)
You know, I'd love to follow @sekrah today, but whenever I go to his page on the Titters, it's just a random collection of posts, and I have no way to sort by time. How does anybody use that site effectively?

SEKRAH I WAS BORN READY
Answering because I have always enjoyed this topic even if it was a joke.
- Jam is chopped/pureed fruit and sugar
- Jelly is exclusively fruit juice and sugar (unless you are from the UK when it is a gelatin based dessert like Jello)
- Preserves are whole fruit/chunks and sugar
- Chutney is jam with spices
- Marmalade is like preserves but exclusively citrus based and includes the peel with the fruit
Pectin is sometimes added to these depending on how much occurs naturally in the fruit to help it set up at room temperature.

yes

Not everyone can form pork gristle into a rib shaped patty.

I was intentionally sidestepping that bit
