I was thinking "Meh, I was excited we got him but he ended up being more of a depth piece than a main contributor"
Seeing that he was our second leading receiver puts things in perspective relative to our passing game this year.
That sounds about right for a 3-9 team that couldn't throw a football for positive yards with any kind of reliability
Not sure we saw the best of anyone this year, our receivers were pretty bland and rarely given a lot of chances
I'm shocked that Drones threw that many catchable passes.
Holy crap our second best receiver only had, checks notes, 23 FREAKING CATCHES?
I, for one, very much welcome their fall from grace
UVA is so bad.
More UVA fans than Mizzu fans but it's nuts, we have season tickets and there are not even more than 3 people sitting in the inside club areas or getting food. The stands are closed in upper deck and lower deck is 40% on UVA side 30% on Missouri side.
That last series by GT was absolutely baffling
The Post-Game was drawn out waaaayy too long.
Its a fun concept but its getting close to jumping the shark territory.
When you say 'this many' you mean like 50, right?
It's the best part of bowl season so far!
But why did the swole Strawberry one chicken out?
post pop tarts bowl is sooo cringy
P4 money most likely
I feel so dirty sitting with all these UVA fans. I've never seen this many in person before.
He's a 300 pound punter and kickoff specialist.
The Jackets clock management has been terrible in this two minute drill
Haynes King just threw it away but had 15 yards open field to run
GT's clock management would make Mike London and Brent Pry happy.
Also, Torrian was a DB, put on an island and having to shut down receivers, he has to have confidence in himself so he might believe that he and Shane can turn this around. He's known Shane for about 30 years too.
its pretty clear that SC isn't a stable job at this point
But Grey is already there. It's not like he's choosing to enter an unstable job instead of VT - he's choosing not to relocate right now.
I'm not going to say this is the 'ideal' or 'perfect' staff, but I'm not as worried as you are
Maybe this all works out and this Staff ends up being lights-out, but I think alot of ourselves are being disingenuous if we don't admit we were expecting a bit more.
I don't think this staff is 'lights-out', but I also think it's the best staff we've assembled in the post-Foster-era. I was hoping for more experience on the offensive side the of ball. I'm pleased with the defense so far.
We know of at least 2 position coaches where we clearly didn't get our primary choices (OC and now CB)... the money (supposedly) shouldn't be a limiting factor anymore.
I think the notion that money wouldn't be a limiting factor was misguided. Again - the staff pay was top 4 by 2024 standards. We're entering the 2026 season. The arms race/inflation/whatever you want to call it is very real.
Offensively, we have a green O.C. and QB coach and I don't feel like we upgraded at RB coach. Moore I understand (though would have been more happy with Trautwein) and Mines is a good Recruiter. We let our most valueable Coach (IMHO) go to Hartline at USF.
I wouldn't call brooks our 'most valuable coach' - but otherwise I agree.
Defensively we have Pry (who I will remain HIGHLY skeptical of until I see at least a half-year of competent Defensive play), Spencer, and a whole lot of Question marks.
I am less skeptical of Pry as a DC than you are. I think his resume speaks for itself.
Also, if Poindexter joins as the new safety coach, and we get someone decent at CBs (ie; Ed Whitley), then all of a sudden this defensive staff looks a bit more well rounded.
The inability to draw Gray from a USCe Staff that is firmly on the Hot Seat going into '26 is concerning. The overall process and makeup of the Staff is concerning.
I disagree. He got a raise and title bump. IF poindexter is joining the team as co-DC/pass game coordinator, then we couldn't really give Torrian co-DC title as well. Also, Torrian is not in the same position as Phil Montgomery was last year, for example. If the SCar wipes the staff clean, Torrian will have no problem getting a job at P2 program.
Two QBs who were big time coming out of high school - Austin Novosad and Air Noland
Surprised tbh, seems like he would've stuck with Mullen

Mizzou's offense looks like ours. Their qb transfers and they throw the ball on 5 of their 6 plays in the 3rd quarter. They go 3/5 for 8 yards and a pick. Their one run gained 5 yards. Yet they insist on throwing it. Down 6. Sideline interview before the 4th q and coach says they're timid throwing the ball and just need to get better throwing it ๐คฆ
Run the fucking ball, dipshit
