It's not even that much of a stretch. If the SEC and B1G champ games feature teams ranked #1-4, then we could easily get dumped down to #5, especially if the Big 12 champ goes undefeated.

This is a really good point, and I'm sure people smarter than me could hash out the depth and experience piece.
Once the dust settles I'd love for someone, user or staff doesn't matter, to deep-dive HS recruits and portal transfers in/out to get a better idea of 2-deep etc. But for now I'm enjoying the ride!
