J.C. Coleman VERBALS?

Rumor in Blacksburg is that Oscar Smith H.S. running back J.C. Coleman verballed to the Hokies today before the spring game. Just five weeks ago he was a strong UVA lean.

Protected tweet by incoming freshman Dewayne Alford let the info drop and Kyle Tucker let was quick to put it out after here.

Incoming #Hokies freshman Dwayne Alford tweeting that Oscar Smith High RB J.C. Coleman committed to VT on visit today. Big news.

Though J.C. has scat back size at 5'7" 170 lbs he runs with balance, vision and more power than one would expect. Last season he rushed for 1,402 yards and 21 touchdowns.

The likely three star recruit is a nice start to a multiple tailback class as future playing time is wide open after the 2011 season.

Welcome J.C.

another 757 guy possible today too

Der'Woun Greene a 5'10" athlete/free safety from IC Norcom (same school as baskeball's Dorian Finney-Smith) might commit.

question BCO

Was the buzz around the Spring Game as far as recruiting concerned legit? The crowd, NFL players, new coaches, the peer pressure of all the recruits being there at once...seems like quite the production that would be hard to resist. Has VT ever looked better?

yes, crazy amount of talent there.

VT didn't do as much as others as far as jr days, seeming to put most of their eggs in the spring game and the week that led up to that (spring break for most of the prospects.) let's be honest, april in blacksburg will be more positive to recruits than february or early march.

only the ill-fated 2005 miami game had more talent is the rumor. This is certainly the best collection of talent on campus that wasn't a game or a camp.

hopefully you get a nice group think going on.

i expect 1 or 2 more recruits over the next day or 2 and then a few more trickling in with the next month. i also like our chances with a big time state recruit by the end of the june camp put on by the coaches.
