Most of us, including me, were not yet born the last time tOSU lost a home opener (1978). Bud Foster was a linebacker and strong safety at Murray State and had not yet crossed paths with Frank Beamer, who would join the staff the following year. In Columbus, they have a football tradition rivaled by few. They also have a current string of success. While we have endured two tough seasons, tOSU has completed two undefeated regular seasons. There is a reason the media is writing it up like they are.

There is a 2,400 lb bell that rings for 20 minutes after each tOSU victory. What is the slogan for our team this year? NEVER ring the bell. Coincidence? I choose to think not.
This one just feels different. I do not believe this group is content with merely being a part of the hoopla and spectacle that awaits them in Columbus. I do not think they are there to be on ESPN at primetime to make a cameo appearance in front of the eyes of the college football nation. I honestly think they are coming to Columbus to take heads, coming to slay some demons that have haunted this program, to show everyone what has been in the works this year while they have labored long and hard while far outside the limelight, to give a loud and clear shots fired warning that Hokie football is back.
